    Re watched Berto vs Ortiz...

Just a couple of observations that I wanna put up for discussion for anyone who cares:

    1. Berto needs a new trainer, he was telling Andre to circle the wrong way against a southpaw, shouldn't you be trying to get AWAY from the power left hand of a southy? Berto was being told to move TOWARDS it....

    2. Ortiz is ALOT faster than what people think, he moves quick on his feet for a big dude and also lets the combos fly with speed ASWELL as his talked about power (the right uppercut, right hook straight left combo will be trouble for Floyd in their fight).

    3. If Ortiz and Maidana have part 2, Victor ****s Marcos and sends him home with a new vagina torn out of his flesh.

    4. When Mayweather vs Ortiz fight, Floyd will NOT back up. I'm willing to bet my house that Floyd will go to Ortiz and fight him on the inside. It's the only times in the Berto fight that Victor looked out of depth was when Andre took it to Victor, plus we saw what Rene did to him in their fight. I can't see Floyd stopping him though, he will do a Juan Manuel type fight and get some rounds under his belt just to keep active.

Anyone disagree with any of these, please feel free to fight you corner!

Yes very explosive. I remember before the fight people saying Bertos speed will be the key, Ortiz' speed looked very good in comparison on the night.

Similar to Cotto vs Mosley, people kept saying Shanes speed will win the fight, then Cotto turned up just as quick as Shane!!!

I agree with most of ya breakdown, esp on the May Ortiz fight..I don't agree with you with a Maidana Ortiz rematch tho..I believe anyone who exchanges with Ortiz and can get past his power beats him..Ortiz just does not like being hit and can't fight going backwards to save his life..He would lose again to Maidana imo in a very similar fashion..

I don't think Cotto was as quick,he had really good timing which always off-set speed..

Good points about the Rene rematch, I can see Ortiz fighting alot smarter this time round, perhaps not being drawn into a war so quick this time though, which makes me think he'd win a close decision in a GOOD fight.

Like the JMM vs Pac fights, JMM didnt have much speed, but his timing was enableing him to hit pac as he darted in and out? This what you mean?

              If Pacman fought Ortiz:

"Ortiz has no heart, Pacman picking on a dude who just quit against Maidana and is green as a tree, way to cherry pick"

              When Floyd fights Ortiz

"Ortiz is the best there is to fight, he is the best"!

Ortiz style is pressure he knows to only come forward and put pressure..Against a fighter like Maidana this is just right up. Maidanas ally..And every time I seen Ortiz box it lefta bad taste in my mouth..He does not have passion and that would be another problem against a fighter like Maidana..I just really can't see howOrtiz wins this fight tbh..

I totally agree with the JMM Pac comparsion...

                  1. Believe it or not, you don't ALWAYS tell a boxer to circle left when fighting a lefty. There are circumstances where you would want your own fighter to circle right or maybe even stay just outside of the foot. It's boxing 101 but not always the case.

                  2. Yes but Berto was just as fast, I think the difference was Ortiz foot movement. IMO that's what won him the fight.

                  3. I agree, especially at 147lbs.

                  4. There's no doubt that Ortiz is better coming forward, I agree. I also don't think Floyd will pressure or come forward vs Ortiz. He might stay in front of him from time to time but Ortiz is coming to pressure so Floyd will do what he always does, counter and box.

As far as the Berto trainer thing, I don't think Bert needs a new trainer, what he needs is more order in the corner. You can't have 3 people giving instructions at once, that is the problem.

That's why Berto was instructed to move to HIS right instead of the traditional left against a southpaw, ORTIZ rights are dangerous. Victor is a natural right hander who fights outta the southpaw stance.
