I would like to know why Martinez is considered overrated by some.

He sits atop a weak division. His last 3 fights were against the Punisher #3 pfp. The lineal middleweight champion, who was undefeated at that weight. The undefeated jr middleweight champion known for a monsterous jab, but was thoroughly outjabbed & kd'd what 5 times en route to a masterful performance/ko. if Martinez is overrated for that, what does that say about the following, real talk.

Clottey, biggest win Judah. Never shows up when it's time to deliver. Margarito for a 154 lb title after being brutaly ko'd, a year layoff & returned against some guy in Mexico. Mosley, clearly shot, old, but somehow managed to survive against the best fighter in the sport right? Finally a Marquez who's only previous visit to welterweight was a horrible outing that absolutely no real boxing fan respected from Floyd. By the standards that Martinez are judged by, wouldn't that make Pacman, king of a very weak welterweight division overrated too?

He's currently ranked #2 or #3 p4p depending if u include Floyd or not so I don't see how he's being underrated

Because he's being argued as the best fighter in the sport, when beating Williams, Pavlik, and Dzinziruk has not proven he is better than Pacquiao, Mayweather, or even Marquez IMO.

I don't see the majority of people putting Hopkins in the p4p top 3 for beating Pascal twice, the way they did for Martinez after beating Pavlik, when that was more impressive.

He hasn't beaten anyone worth a damn. Williams was only P4P #3 on Yahoo, that was the only site who had him that high and the vast majority of people were calling Williams insanely overrated and a KO waiting to happen, me being one of them. He beat Pavlik he wasn't even on anyone's top 15 I don't think. Is he a top 10 P4P definitely, but not 3 he doesn't have the resume.

Also, it wasn't that he called out Floyd or Manny. Its that he called these guys out while refusing to move up in weight himself in fights where he would get A LOT more exposure then fighting at 25-1 underdog like he is on HBO. Sure, he is the best MW in the world, but if everyone in the division is garbage that earns you the 3 spot P4P?

Whenever someone becomes a legit threat to either your favorite fighter, or the #1 spot in the mythical p4p rankings, he becomes overrated due to nit-picking his any and every aspect of his career
