I would like to know why Martinez is considered overrated by some.

It's because Pac and PBF fans here use his name when they run out of things to say. Kind of a bandwagoners thing.

      Cotto is good.
Young guys don't mean good, the ***** logic is so flawed. Ortiz has a draw and quit against Maidana all in the last two years. In two years he has half the loss and draws that Manny has yet somehow he's a good pick because he's young? So that's why Sergio is good he fights "young guys" who suck, but because they are "young" they are good fights?

This is my point. Since Pacman touched down at welterweight the only fairly credible fighter that he fought was Clottey. There is absolutely nothing that could be taken from that win. Cotto was a decent win, but his team asked for a catchweight for a reason. Everyone else he fought was not healthy.

Even Floyd's last 2 fights owns Pacman's last 4. If Martinez is overrated for beating the Punisher, Pavlik & Dzinziruk, what does that make a man that beat Shot Margarito & Mosley & now an old fat Marquez, it's gotta be the same ****ing thing. It really doesn't make sense any other way.

What gets to me is that PAC fans talk ish about Floyd and Sergio when PAC is doing the same exact thing but way worst. It's ok for PAC to have Marquez fight at WW but not Floyd? IMO it's wrong on both parts no better no worst

Sergio fighting those SMW would be like if PAC were to fight Martinez or Williams at 154 instead of Margo at 150.
Great Post, you can't win arguments with logic on here, only hate.

martinez calling out floyd or pacuiqao is as ****** as wlad calling out martinez

martinez walks around at 170 180

no doubt he could make 200 and then fight wlad

in the same way- floyd or (especially) manny fighting at 154 against a guy who is much bigger is no fight at all

so sergio- call out wlad please or stick to fighting middle weights

really he should call out hopkins and make that fight

Sergio isn't overrated. It's pretty awesome how he went from a C level fighter to a A level fighter in his 30s none the less.

I don't think Martinez is over rated at all. He's an excellent fighter and lots of fun to watch. The only thing I have a problem with is how he calls out fighters like pacquiao and floyd, two guys he'd have a very significant size advantage over, in pacquiaos case a huge advantage. Yet he scoffs at the idea of moving up to 168, and he uses his size as the excuse.

I know he's chasing the money and he doesn't have too long left so he's trying to cash out. That's fine with me, **** I know it's all about making money. I'd have been ok with even saying "hey, I'm the middle weight champion of the world I'm not chasing anybody they need to come to me". I'd have been fine with that, but using size as an excuse, right after you've been begging to get a fight with a couple of welter weights???? Just can't swallow that...

He's still one of my favorite fighters, and I can't wait to see him at it again. But I'm not gonna lie, that bull**** really didn't rub me the right way.

Have to disagree with that. Floyd fought a light weight and a grandpa who was in active for over 18 months. That by no stretch of imagination is even close to clotty/tony/cotto/grandpa. Catch weight be damned, cotto was better then both those fights put together. It ****** when floyd fought those two, it's sucks now that pac is pulling the same gay ****. But lets not lose our minds now. The only reason gramps beat tony was the weight, and tony just had his secret weapons taken away. Lets not forget how gramps looked against mayorga right before that. Putting any stock at all in floyds last two fights is fools gold. On paper they looked ok, but in reality it was horse crap. This is floyds first real fight in years. And I've been giving **** to manny for pulling the same gay ****, they should both be doing a lot more then fighting sr. citizens and light weights. I expect better.

Perhaps he is overrated by some but I thought he was pretty good before the long inactive periods started.
