Purrity & Sanders were less accomplished Heavyweights than Wepner, if they can pull it off, i see no reason why the Bayonne Bleeder couldn't.

Lennox got knocked out COLD -- something that never happened to Wlad -- by two journeymen, one a fat guy and the other a crack head. But that doesn't seem to bother the same people who keep bringing up Wlad being knocked down by Sanders and Peter.
Rahman is a journeyman? If a journeyman (as you proclaim) can be an alphabet title holder and perennial top ten contender for nearly a decade, what does that say about how weak this current Heavyweight era is?

Around 2.30 not the best angle and the boxer’s feet are not in view however it does look as though Ali was off balance and maybe falling a fraction of a second before the punch landed.

I have seen a lot of people hurt and dropped by body shots they rarely fall backwards and with such a speedy falling motion when someone is legitimately hurt to the body there instant reaction is to curl forwards before going down.

My opinion is that Ali was off balance and from the picture someone else posted in this thread it could well be that his feet where tangled as well very iffy knock down, in my opinion there are very good grounds to argue about its legitimacy.

Sonny Liston knocked Wepner down by stepping on his foot while throwing a body punch. That's where he picked up the trick.

Sultan Ibragimov was the WBO heavyweight champion of the world when Wlad beat him.

Ruslan Chagaev handed Valuev his first ever loss and was still rightfully the WBA heavyweight champion of the world when Wlad beat him.

                    So the list should be:

                    David Haye
                    Ruslan Chagaev
                    Sultan Ibragimov
                    Chris Byrd
                    Samuel Peter
Davis Haye - Never proved a thing at heavyweight besides winning a paper title that rightfully belonged to Ruiz and not Valuev. THAT says a lot, no?

Ruslan Chagaev - Still to be determined, by highly unlikely to ever make the hall of fame because of the terrible era.

Sultan Ibragimov - One and done. He took one shot at the championship and quit after he lost in the bout known as "The official cure for insomnia".

Chris Byrd - Former super middleweight made it 12ounds with Wlad. Decent fighter but in all likelihood not hall of fame worthy.

Sam Peter - Fought other fat slobs who were past prime. Had no skills or stamina. Will never be in the hall of fame. Ever.

Damn, that's a murderers row right there!!!

How are people supposed to discuss boxing in a thread that is clearly biased and unreasonable?

The worst part is that you could actually make a reasonable and sound argument that Ali has fought better fights than Klitschko, but you do your agenda a disservice with threads like this.
