If you say Phelps can beat any swimmer from any era again nobody would have a problem with that statement.

sprinting and swimming is technically a race against time......

it really does not matter who your competitors are in sprinting and swimming..

when you get the best times in those sports you're the man.....

but in boxing you really have to reckon with the one you fight...

boxing is somewhat different than most sports when it comes to advances in sports science imho, in that advances in the physical aspect can only take you so far. Most of today's fighters don't have a sound defense or footwork......no amount of advances in sports science is going to help you in boxing if you don't have the SKILL + TECHNIQUE.

George Foreman won a title when he was in his mid 40's beating a top HW.

Wlad hasn't beaten any top HW's. The best HW on his resume is probably David Haye, a former cruiserweight, who also hasn't beaten anybody.

Vitali > Wlad.


That said, they are both very competitive fighters in any era........but there are plenty of HW's who would beat Wlad.
