I can understand the no negotiations part with Cotto and all with Mayweather. Don't you think though the retirement when the world wanted to see both of them fight was obvious? Just asking.

Is not like he retired straight after Hatton. I mean he retired like during the summer of 08, he fought Hatton on Dec of 07. He was negotiating to have that crappy rematch with Oscar. When he didn't get the money he wanted for the rematch is when he retired.

However, during this whole time Cotto never reached out to Mayweather. During this time Cotto was making fights with Gomez happen, and then negotiating and the Margarito fight was set in motion.

If Floyd didn't retire after the Oscar rematch negotiations fail through. The Cotto fight still wasn't going to happen. Because, Cotto was making fights with Gomez and Margarito pre Floyd retiring. Never reached out to the guy who was the champ of the division.

I don't see how Floyd ducked him.

when cotto vs floyd was the biggest fight in boxing floyd retired only to come back after cotto was defeated.
This is why I don't understand how Floyd fans believe the sh it they type.

Even Oscar went on record as saying he did NOT want to fight the pre plaster Cotto. That version of Cotto was a machine who broke fighters down. Floyd wanted nothing to do with that rib shot.

Hmmm in a way I can see what your saying but I'm not fully convinced. Good post though no doubt.

                  That's bullshit.

Oscar want it to fight Cotto.

Because if Mayweather didn't fight someone in the same division as him it is naturally his fault or his ducking.

100% of fans who started following the sport in 2007/2008 think Mayweather ducked Cotto because others say it.

Hell, even fans who followed the sport then say it.

Some fans who were following the sport then say he ducked Winky Wright for God's sake. Along with many other ridiculous names.

Dude, Oscar wanted the Cotto fight. That was the fight he was hoping for. You're making ridiculous claims.

Floyd never ducked Cotto. So you can goahead and add him to that pretend list of fighters Mayweather "ducked" the list includes the likes of Kostya Tszyu, Vivian Harris, Joel Casamayor, and Acelino Freitas. Might aswell just say Floyd ducked everyone near his division who's not on his resume.
