You have got to be kidding me. Sergio either needs to move up to 168 or shut the *** up for good. U can't run around blabbing your mouth about guys 2 weight classes below you, and then use the "size is too much" argument the very next day. If ur not willing to do something, don't run around *****ing and moaning because no one else is willing to do it either. The guy wants to have his cake and eat it too. It's all good when he's got a 20-30 pound advantage in the ring, but not the other way around? I just lost a lot of respect for martinez.

Sterodgio Marintez calls out small WWs like floyd and pac to go up to 154-- yet he is unwilling to risk going up to 168.

Height has nothing to do with anything. They came from lower divisions but so what. Manny has obviously been able to adapt as he's moving up. It's a god given gift, Marquez is barely holding is own at 135. The only thing that keeps Marquez successfull at 135 is his tremendous technical ability, other than that, he lack strength in his punches and is constantly being bullied around by guys like Diaz and others. And, his fight with Mayweather was a joke at 140. Marquez had no snap in his punches, no strengh, no nothing. It was a welter weight fighting a light weight.

So, how can a normal thinking man thinkg that he;ll be able to compete at 147, if he looked like a shell of the fighter he is at 140. It's really common sense dude.

And if you can't see that or you're that biased towards Manny I CAN'T HELP YOU MY FREIND.

Because Marquez doesn't belong anywhere near 147. I don't care that if on fight night they eigh the same.

They are both 146-150 fight, as floyd was back in the day, now floyd is a bit heavier!!

Anyways the point is how you can justify the MW champ of the world who weights 170 fight night, to call out a dude who is not suppose to be fighting at WW let alone beating people there!!

The optimal weight for a fighter to be comfortable fighting at isnt just about height. Its about his frame, his strength to weight ratio, and just where he feels he is comfortable at. SMW is a little big for Sergio. Sad how everyone has to rag on every little thing a fighter does, on here. The guy would rather go down in weight then up. Thats his choice. WTF. I just wanna see some good fights. Hes definitely kinda small to be matched with guys @ SMW and others who are LHW who bounced down to SMW. IF he can make 154, and there is fights there, then why wouldnt he do it. He probably sacrifice too much speed going to 168, which is one of his greatest assets.

i hate to seee guys try to make weight just to have a big payday...then at the same time freek/n bulk up and have a weight advantage of 15, 20, 25lbs...i'd like to see martinez on the other side of this big weight advantage and fight either a super middleweight or light heavyweight...then lets see how martinez likes it, HAHAHA...a total wacko!!!

lol, none of these fighters are innocent. Manny is probably the worst cherry picker in the sport right now. He hasn't fought ANYONE serious since Cotto! The Marquez fight upsets me. Talk about not fair to Marquez. This fight doesn't settle anything as far as I'm concerned.

I do not get it either Pacquiao should give Martinez a shot but I think we have to blame Roach and Top Rank for that.

Martinez weighs in for his middleweight fights at 167 and super middleweights like Bute weigh in around 185. Martinez would give up too much weight and strength at 168.

sh/t...isnt weight, strenght, and size what pac give up against welterweights already? pac cant even weigh over 147 on fight nite while other welterweights come in at close to 160...pac has been outweighed every single time since moving up to welterweight...if pac can do it, why cant the self proclaimed king do it by challenging the bigger guys at super middleweight? i bet if it the super middleweight werent as talented and deep as it is now, i bet martinez wouldve moved up just so he can rule that division...but no!!! too many good fighters in that division equates to HELL NO IM NOT MOVING UP!!! hahaha, what whackos they have in team martinez

Funny How I Don't Recall This 'Blown Up' JR Middleweight Martinez EVER Fighting 147.

Leonard went from 147 up to beat Hagler eventually at 160, then knocked out LaLonde at 175, and fight night LaLonde was probably walking around at close to 190. Martinez and his team are a bunch of weasels.
