So we just forget what happened against Maidana? What about Peterson boxing Vic's ears off for the last half of the fight? What about Berto putting Vic on his ass? Forget that too? Ortiz should be considered inconsistent at this point in his career, until he strings together a few good wins in a row he's nothing more. I think we forgot that Vic has not proven his worth yet and Mayweather picked him for a reason. Floyd doesn't like getting hit or Floyd doesn't get hit? C'mon man Judah, Oscar and Mosley? Grasping for straws a bit. Call me crazy but I always considered Ortiz as a fighter that didn't like getting hit. Kind of a frontrunner, when he can dominate on pure ability he's confident and looks unbeatable. When he is in with someone that fights back he usually clams up a bit. I wouldn't be so quick to throw money away on a hunch.

Ok why does Garcia think that jr is the same fighter like BERTO!!!??talented no doubt Berto is but very very flawed!! he stayes in hes kick boxing stance like 19 feet apart from the other literary aint got no jab and can he even throw a LEFT HOOK???????!!! the only things Berto has going for him is power/speed and heart but other than that he is way overrated!!! not cuz of hes skill level cuz Berto can fight he does have natural talent but no great opposition faced and thats why he was way overrated and OVER PAYED cuz the guy was getting close to a 1mil a fight WTF was that all about??? like i said jr gona look unbeatable this fight just cuz the way Ortiz fights which is very exciting to watch but doesn't win u fights all the time cuz he is very flawed him self..that said im not counting ortiz out completely i say he has a big puncher's chance but thats as far as he goes..Comment

U sure about that???? ive never seen jr gased in any of hes fights breathing heavily the dude can easily fight 12 rounds and why u say jr cant beat ortiz up all night?? Ortiz comes in with hes hands down and u think jr cant catch him??Comment

The Berto win was a great win wont say no cuz thats one of the best fights ive seen but com on man Berto was a untested fighter and every one knows it?? yes Berto was the champ but then again who did he fight??? luie collazo was the only challenge and went thru hell to get that win...yes Ortiz is one of the belt holder but i know he still aint ready for a jr or pAC cuz those two guys r veterans and this is Ortiz's biggest fight and hes second fight at WW???? if he would have defended hes belt and got some wins under hes Belt at WW then i would say hes ready but he aint hes gona b in for the shock of hes life come fight night..Comment

first off , Columbus did not discover America.
now how are u gonna tell Ortiz to fight Floyd same way he fought Berto , u must want Ortiz to literally die in the ring. Mayweather is light years and a few galaxies better than Berto and if u know anything about Floyd is when fighters rush him and try to manhandle him, he destroys em even faster and more brutally.
the best thing for Ortiz to do is box and be aggressive but only at certain times, but it really doesnt matter he's gettin demolished and erased from the boxing world.Comment

What you guys are forgetting is that Marquez and Mosley are two older guys, Ortiz is not. With these long layoffs, Mayweather is playing with fire and his legs can get old overnight, especially if he is pressured by a high energy rate from Ortiz. It is not far-fetched that Mayweather could look his age and Ortiz is not the fighter you want to loose a step or two against.Comment

Lamount Effing Peterson boxed the crap out of Ortiz, what chance would he have in trying to box with one of the greatest boxers ever?Comment

Lets put it this way, Mayweather is going to get badly wobbled and maybe dropped in this fight and outworked for a number of rounds. The question is, can he adapt like he does after a few rounds and dominate or does age and Ortiz's power-pressure get to him. Father time and layoffs catch up to every fighter.Comment

Ortiz sleep walked against Peterson, he was on fire for Berto. HUGE difference. Anyone who thinks this will be a cakewalk all the way for Mayweather is fooling themselves. Mayweather has fought older fighters the last few fights, Ortiz is young and powerful. He will hurt and drop Mayweather and win some rounds if nothing more.Comment
