I'm gonna say what i said after the first fight; for cotto to win, he needs to go to the body.
the first time they fought he was telegraphing his body punches. that's why margarito was blocking them. he'd shell up when cotto would make would make a move for the ribs.
that's not how he became known as a great body puncher; he needs to counter margo's looping right with that left to the body. if he does that enough, i see him breaking margo down, if not i expect margo to take a decision.

Cotto will win the 2nd fight, he is much more mature, experience and learned from the last fight.
He not going to try and KO Marg he will out box him, slow the pace down and hit and move, and take breathers when he can.

He isn't breaking Marg down....lol he needs to BOX and MOVE. He cannot stand and trade with Marg, no way no how.

He DOMINATED that fight early on and landed BOMBS on Margarito. Even the HBO crew were saying how MASTERFUL his performance was and only Steward was saying how Marg was hurting him and could wear him down.
Marg was pushing forward but was losing rounds, I don't know what you were looking at. I also felt after about the 7th that Marg would win but early in that fight Cotto was giving him a boxing lesson.
Look at Marg's face after that fight, he was getting hit and hit hard.
The more you watch it the more you see that Margarito had it turning his way quite early. Cotto was hurt bad in the 2nd round and from that point on you could see him flagging.

yeah, both guys are on their way out, but it's still an interesting matchup. i say cotto needs to box his ass to a decision. if pac didn't stop him, i doubt cotto will. should be a very entertaining fight though, looking forward to this.

He really didn't hurt him until late in the 10th, by that time, I agree I knew he was going to be KO'd.
Early on though, Cotto was boxing beautifully, moving, landing big shots and hitting Marg with everything.

All of you claiming that Steward is going to fix Cotto's mistakes, look back at his fights with Steward and tell me if he really has done anything to say Cotto is better. His uncle was his best trainer and there's no doubt about it. Against Mayorga, a better Cotto would have stopped him a lot easier and it wouldn't have taken 12 rds.
Cotto's best bet will be ring size and stamina. If the ring is the biggest size allowed and Cotto is in perfect shape he can aim for a decision.

In order to commit to the body, you have to stay inside. Jabs and shots from the outside aren't going to get it done. Body work is something you have to work on from round 1.
Body shots are close up shots for the most part and you have to remember Marg is taller and bigger than Cotto, I don't think that Stewards game plan will be to stay inside with him especially understanding that the upper cut is Marg's best shot.
If Cotto is to win, it's going to be at the end of that jab, with incredible stamina and movement and using his intelligence and boxing to out point Marg for 12 rounds. I don't see Cotto stopping or hurting Marg.
