It looks like Salido is doing the Pacquiao way of milking it.

I thought Lopez would probably take the rematch but after seeing how fat he was, I don't know.

If "Siri" fights JuanMa right away, and loses, his earning possibilities plummet. As champ, he's master of his own destiny. Without a belt, Salido's just another fighter.

Better business to defend against who? Thats the point the point, though.Lets just say he losses, whats he going to do afterwards? Beg juanma for a rematch? Juanma would tell him to kiss his ass goodbye with no belt. Then the salido praises will yell that juanma will be THE ONE ducking salido

No belt but he still beat him. Lopez lost that "0" to him. Just saying man.

The reason i say this is because i would rather have the fight at '26.Where juanma legitely lost it at.Not @ 130,135 like juanma's ppl say they plan to go up to.126 then a rematch at any weight after that. Then ill be satisfied

That's assuming Salido loses to someone else before he fights Lopez again. Orlando just fought Yamaguchi, an awkward but easy payday. Salido can choose another opponent that his camp thinks isn't too risky, then rematch JuanMa. It's a little risky, perhaps, but that's boxing...and it makes sense. Losing to Lopez in a rematch is more likely to happen than fighting, say, Jonathan Barros. That's my point.

I would also like to see Salido-Lopez II at 126. But if they both move up to 130, it wouldn't be so bad. The junior lightweight division is a little weak. Gamboa-Lopez, if it ever happens, might have to be fought at 130.

It's a tough game. You're right, nothing is a foregone conclusion. But it's about playing the odds. I happen to think that Salido's best option, to maximize his earning potential, is to take on a less threatening opponent than Lopez. Of course, Orlando might drop his belt in the process. That's the (lesser) chance he takes.

I really get the impression that most people here (regardless of nationality) seem to think that Salido will win a rematch with JuanMa. I feel their chances are even. Orlando beat Lopez convincingly, but JuanMa's a big puncher who might not have had his head on right that night. It's going to be interesting....

I meant the way I typed it, first unify then give Juan Ma the rematch. Salido has the option this time around. I remember Juan Ma wanted to fight Teon Kennedy lol and then he picked Salido thinking he was going to do better with Gamboas seconds, but Gamboa is just a class above and that is why he outclassed Siri in a fight that was still a challenge for Yuri.

Juan Ma should fight Mikey Garcia or Juan Carlos Burgos for a title shot again.
