Mayweather uses the jab more offensively than Pacquiao because Pacquiao uses it as a distraction doesn't mean it isn't an effective punch for Mayweather. A good jab can stop a fighter in his tracks. You're taking away something in Mayweathers arsenal just because Pacquiao hasn't got the ability to use it the same way.

If fighter x needs to throw an uncommited jab in order to land another type of punch, fighter x obviously has thrown 2 punches. One of which missed, one of which landed. That would be a 50% connect rate. You can't just say "oh he landed the second one, therefore the first one missing doesn't count. 100% accuracy Pacmen he de best!"

He didn't last night, and even if he did, how would using the jab more offensively effect the accuracy of his power punches?

Sorry I did not make myself clear, was referring to the jab, not the body shots

A good jab will cause a fighter to put up his defence for anything coming behind it thats how it effects the accuracy of his power punches.

So Pacquiao must have the best jab in history, if you watch the Clottey fight.

Any examples of your theory, our are you just talking BS

you mean the fight that clottey admitted he was paid to lose? oh ok...

cant wait to see the argument on this one, even though its basic fact, but lets go anyway...

Own3d seems to thing having a good jab will make the opponent more defensive and just put their guard up.

I don't, the guy is just grasping at straws and can't back up his theory with any evidence or logical reasoning.

LOL paid to lose getting desperate again.

Clottey did a better defensive job against Cotto than Floyd did.

Too bad Clottey took the last 3 rounds off against Cotto.

Cotto seemed less effective against Clottey's defense than Floyd's
