This fight would never happen because boxing doesn't need the circus shows to get attention like MMA does.

Do you think if Randy Couture called out James Toney for a boxing match that that would of happened? No way.

Dana White knew people would pay to see a boxer take on his pride and joy in the octagon. That was a win win for him. Bigger PPV numbers and he knew Couture would take him down, finish him quickly then he could have his uneducated mma fans all go home happy thinking that this fight means mma is better than boxing.

There's been plenty of embarassing moments and fights in boxing that fans want to forget but these mma promoters kill to have the Jose Consecos and the Butterbeans in their shows because its a circus that dumb*** fans who just love violence, want to see.

I heard Kimbo Slice is making his boxing debut soon, now honestly, how much of a buzz will that bull**** create compared to the buzz created when he joined the UFC?

HBO won't be jumping on doing a 24/7 for that like how the UFC put him on the Ultimate Fighter and made him the star of the show. The guy didn't even come close to winning the show, he was clowned by a fat guy and ex-NFLers and still he was on the main card of two UFC events. Even before that he was headlining #2 promotion at the time, EliteXC events in only his second and third fights.

I heard Kimbo is headlining some show against a 0-1 boxer in his debut this summer and how many of us boxing fans care?

I used to be a huge MMA fan before to was "cool" but honestly, this junior varsity stuff and the "mma fans" killed it for me. MMA needs to stay away from boxing and just self-destruct on its own.

Vitali would beat the steroids out of Overeem. It would just be a gruesome, ugly destruction.

Overeem gets destroyed by Vitali, everyone knows this.

But Overeem at least takes his training and career serious, and don't let himself get out of shape like 90% of todays heavyweights.

I would tune in to watch it. More intriguing than sosnowski and the likes.

That's an ironic comment, because Sosnowski showed up in absolutely ripped shape versus Vitali, after training with Mariusz Pudzianowski.

the reem is unbelievably gifted. say what you want about MMA, overeem is one of the most gifted big men to ever compete in their sport. his strength is just shocking.
and also almost certainly on steroids
            ^^

he was NEVER as big as he was until ..... recently.... maybe the past four years or so.

that being said if he fought his first fight against vitali for his championship over 12 rounds he'd probably retire from all combat sport

also, in his defense, overeem also competes in k-1, which is hands feet and knees with light clinching
much more similar to boxing than mma
and actually quite close to the study that brough vitali to boxing (kickboxing)
he's got decent punches for a big man in terms of the technical
and is leagues beyond most MMA "strikers" (laugh, that term just sounds weak)

vitali via kayo in six or seven
and no joke, it would be brutal tv, with the reem getting reemed.

i saw pudz fight in an mma event and tap to tim sylvia from punches

              it was pitiful

Yes but hes bad and weighs 220lbs.

No idea what pudzianowski could bring to the table as to boxer conditioning.

Pudz has been popped for roids a few times, hasn't he? Maybe he lent Sosnowski some for the Vitali fight. Didn't help, but at least he looked good!

Overeem is an amazing athlete, but hes a mental midget unfortunately. He will probably be just as scared to engage as David Haye was against wlad.

With that said, whos out there for Vitali after adamek? I would tune in for this. Better than him fighting an unexplosive fatty whos already been pimpslapped by wladimir.

He certainly wasn't any worse than David Haye was vs Wlad -- Sos had a game plan, and might have won a round or two while actually trying to engage Vitali and not running away. I give the man credit, he's a fighter, and he makes the most out of limited skills. He has no fear.
