pierre benoist whole heartily agrees with this post.

You were simply listening to the commentary more then watching the fight. Lara landed really good lefts but alot of them just made a loud sound. Making a loud sound doesn't mean **** unless it hits a meaningful target. A shoulder and a glove isn't a meaningful target.

      Sorry man.
If you think that we thought Lara won because what they were saying, you really didn't watch the fight or you are so bias that is making you blind, didn't you see PW face after the fight? he is probably still in the hospital after the beating he took, I think he didn't attend the post fight press conference because he went straight to the hospital, the guy was hurt and the only reason he was not carried out on a stretcher is because he was a LHW fighting a JMW, nono of you PW fans gave Lara a chance, because his amateur background and he didn't have enough experience in the pro game, well I guess been an standout amateur counts for a lot, don't you think?

If Lara wasnt landing that left hand Lara wouldve lost every round. Its that simple and yet Peterson wouldnt make the adjustments. That was sad to watch at times.

And slow down with the Lara hype. He didnt look that good to me but he did enough to win imo. However we know some judges favor activity and facts are this Williams landed A LOT. Pitty punches....still count.

So again I had it 7-5 Lara and I only want Paul to cme back if he doesnt have that **** head Peterson in his corner.
Come on Burner. I know you had to have seen the pre fight interview Paul Williams gave to HBO right before the fight happened. He said 'You don't blame the trainer when you lose a fight, it just means you didn't do what you were trained to do.' He said "IT'S NOT THE TRAINER, IT'S YOU." Peterson has been with Williams since he turned Pro, are you saying that Peterson was good enough when Paul was winning but when he loses it's his trainers fault? Williams ain't gettin rid of Peterson, and he was chastising fighters that do that in his interview.

And LOL @ "If Lara wasn't landing that right hand, Lara wouldve lost every round.". Seriously??!? It's a little like a runner saying "If that guy hadn't been faster then me I would've won the race".

        • I agree with TS, I saw it how he saw it Paul was more busier. Lara would landa big shot or two and then grapple or move away from the action fights like that are difficult to score. Like the Winky-Hopkins fight.

You have to laughs at some of the post here, now they want to take away Lara's left hand, why not tie him up and throw him to the lions.

Just said it ain't the hysteria that the women here think it is.
yea but you sitting there defending it, pointing out little reasons as to why it probably wasn't so bad of a call, you're not keeping it all the way real and saying "I thought Williams won" but you're discrediting Lara's work in there by saying "a lot" his overhand left's "came close" to landing and that the crowd sensationalized it making it look better than what it was, you clearly weren't focusing on the fight because if you were you would have noticed how Lara was tagging Williams FLUSH and mercilessly with that punch

people cheered for Lara because he did the more damage he was actually entertaining while winning while Paul looked amateurish and sluggish while losing, Paul didn't win that fight and in his heart he knows it and for as much of a man as he is for having the balls to get in there and fight I don't think he will ever be man enough to admit to losing this fight, he will hide behind Al Haymon and Joe Goosen's wing and until he hs no choice but to lose due to getting floored face first again, that's the business of Boxing, the people who run the shows build you, steal fights from you to preserve dollars, they drain the integrity of the fight all to preserve their dollars which they don't even earn

isn't that called boxing? hit the dude then move away or make sure he can't hit you in return. well at least that's what boxing used to be. now boxing is who can throw the most total punches.

Neither. But thanks for your imput. Good bye.

                    too bad he did.

in a rematch Lara may realize that he needs to WIN a fight, rather than just be in it.

this doesn't mean knockout, this means have the ring generalship and aggression to win that fight. even if you fight defensively you need to show that your in it to win not just going through the motions.
Man you are a moron, Lara wasn't not in the fight he beat the heck out of Williams which he was never in the fight.

yes but to a judge, if the other guy is throwing a lot of wild punches, he might be seen as the more active fighter. I have issues with fights like these because one fighter is landing the cleaner and fewer shots, while one is just throwing his hands frequently and if a judge prefers workrate, he will give it to the busier fighter
