Thats B.S. Floyd was with HBO & Tszyu was with Showtime. Tszyu had 1 more fight left on that network and Floyd was done with everyone at 140 except Tszyu. Both were talking about fighting "if" Tsyzu got past Hatton but he didnt. If Tszyu beats Hatton then I bet the Floyd fight was next for both
Fighters past and present that could/ve beaten Floyd Mayweather

Revisionism at it's finest.still having trouble with reality? floyd wanted no part of tszyu. he fought in 2 elminators just to force a fight with gatti. tszyu was waiting for an offer from floyd the whole time(look it up) but it never came. he didn't need any eliminators to fight tsyzu. so he fought corley, brusseles(top 10 in what universe?), and gatti instead of tsyzu. why fight the best when you can fight the rest? i believe that's floyd's motto. normal people call these tune ups but *****s call them career defining fights.
@ 2:20 He called out Tszyu without him even being mentioned.
When Floyd first moved up to 140, Tszyu was semi-retired and fighting like only once a year. And Floyd targeting Gatti was a business decision, it's what the fans and the media were clamoring for. He probably wasn't going to get on PPV by fighting Tszyu right away. He likely would've faught Tszyu later in the year if he had've survived the Hatton fight.Last edited by Deal With It; 07-08-2011, 01:24 AM.Comment

That's really the only thing that needs to be said.
All this "ducking" "calling out" is ******ed.
It was damn near impossible for them to fight because they were fighters from rival networks.Comment

It means alot more than NOT mentioning his name as a potential opponent, especially when he wasn't even under any sort of pressure to make a fight with Tszyu.
Mayweather was the guy that everybody was shying away from fighting in those days.Comment

No it means absolutely nothing...Not a damn thing...
Leonard not calling out Pryor meant more than Pryor calling out Leonard in front of cameras...
Again saying someones name in camera means absolutely nothing man.
And, no everyone wasn't shining away from him either...People blew up the myth from the Gatti fight...Comment

Unlike Leonard/Pryor, Mayweather & Tszyu never got to the point of negotiations, so there is a difference, a BIG difference. Leonard/Pryor has no relation whatsoever to what i'm talking about. No it means absolutely nothing...Not a damn thing...

But you can respond and pretend that a fighter getting called out in the media, makes no difference on a future potential fight being made.Comment
