Edgard ironically I see people confusing criticism of Merchant as Hate. Hes not above criticism and imo hes a good , funny but very flawed commentator.

I agree with you and the thread starter 100 percent. Merchant has certain fighters that he loves and certain ones that he hates. The ones that he loves (Pacquaio and De La Hoya for example) can do no wrong. The ones he hates (Floyd Mayweather) can do no right. I have never once heard him criticize the opponents De La Hoya chose or anything Oscar did in the ring. When Oscar fought and won a lackluster decision over Steven "two-pounds" Forbes at 154, which was 20 pounds over Forbest best fighting weight, you would have thought that Oscar had just slayed King Kong. His praise of Oscar's performance was so ridiculous, I thought I was going to throw up. I also have never heard him criticize Pacquaio for his choice of opponents, fighting at catchweights or anything else. In the post fight interviews, a casual observer would think that Merchant is Pac's press secretary.Larry is obviously a HUGE fan of Pac.
Why doesn't Larry pound questions down manny's throat on why he won't take the test??
I have yet to see a post fight interview of Larry asking Manny any real questions regarding PED's and the "speculation" around the topic.
This is what I'm talking about when it comes to Merchant.
He has no problem ****ting on Floyd, Roy, Haye, Hopkins, LENNOX LEWIS (see the Lewis-Vitali post fight interview). BIASED!!
On the other hand, Merchant goes out of his way to avoid giving Floyd Mayweather credit for anything he does. He often predicts Mayweather will lose to bigger, stronger, more tenacious fighters before the fight (Baldomir, Hatton, De La Hoya), starts whining during the fight he realizes that Mayweahter will win easily and then grills Mayweather like he committed murder after the fight without giving him any credit for his accomplishments.
I don't know if I would say his bias is race-based, but I would say that he is the worst analyst in any sport that I have ever seen in my lifetime.Comment

larry keeps it real. he didnt sound racist after cloud knockedout mack 2 weeks ago. he gave great praise when he said cloud should be sent on a nation wide tour to gyms across america to show guys how to be a fighter. to fight with some balls basically. maybe if more african americans fought with more balls, u wouldnt feel as if he is always dissing them.Comment

fighting with "balls" doesnt win u fights. fighting with skill and ur brain does. if everyone fought like gatti, boxing would be ****. appreciate all the styles of fighting. a boxer is in the ring. sure, some fights turn out boring, but thats boxing.larry keeps it real. he didnt sound racist after cloud knockedout mack 2 weeks ago. he gave great praise when he said cloud should be sent on a nation wide tour to gyms across america to show guys how to be a fighter. to fight with some balls basically. maybe if more african americans fought with more balls, u wouldnt feel as if he is always dissing them.Comment
