In his prime, Roy Jones was possibly one of the most talented/exciting fighters of all time. Larry use to trash Roy before, during, and after the fight.

Showtime broadcasting team is BETTER anyway! They just call the matches, they don't put PERSONAL FEELINGS in the Broadcast like HBO does

HBO team lets you know right away who they want to win, watching Salido vs JuanMa, the play by play guy Gus Johnson sounded EXCITED for Salido compared to HBO who probably would not have been as excited that they guy they wanted to win was getting his a$$ Kicked

Larry Merchant is a bitter OLD MAN, that is his style, that is how he always been, nothing will change

The guy likes action fights more then technical fights. The vast majority of boxing fans would agree with him so what's the problem? That doesn't make him biased. It' means he prefers one style over the other. That doesn't mean there's nothing to be said for a technical fight or fighter. Some people like home runs, some people like pitching. Commentators are no different then fans, we are all human and we all have our own personal likes and dislikes.

you think he was wrong in his assessment of Haye last Saturday?

In his prime, Roy Jones also fought some of the most overmatched opponents possible. I dont think Larry ever questioned his talent.

But if you youtube any of Roy's fights that are on HBO, you'll see what I'm saying.

Don't always agree with him but Larry Merchant is great. Some people are just sensitive and get their panties in a bunch because their views don't match his. Suck it up. Just wish he'd spit it out a little quicker.
