here's where using your own brain comes in. See...I watched Mosley's last fight...and that's why he was universally recognized as such by not just ESPN and Ring (what happened to sanctioning bodies, princess?) but by nearly everyone!

His last fight was Jan. of '09 and it was a fight against a drained Margarito who had found out that his career was in jeopardy before the fight started. The Mosley that fought Shane was the same Mosley who fought Floyd. Doesn't make sense that one is a considered a great WW fight and the other is a cherry pick. Shane was done in both fights.

Who gives a **** if he won against Freddy Hernandez?

Does Mike Jones beating Raul Munoz mean he's the best available for Manny now?

Except Floyd didn't perceive as a threat, otherwise he would've gone on vacation instead. He said it himself in an ESPN interview, Shane was older and he (Floyd) was planning on pressing the action because of this.

I'm just trying to establish a baseline for how you determine who the best available is, was wondering if it was ranking by either sanctioning bodies, boxing publications, calibre of opponents, etc.

But now I know... it's your Brain
    Thanks.

Antonio Margarito ranked #1 by the WBC...

    ****ing clown.

Didn't even bother to address my points. Oh well, enjoy watching Floyd take on the best available welter AKA Maidana's damaged leftovers.

Sorry but Margarito is someone Manny won't be bragging about when he retires. Manny is great but Margarito doesn't give Manny bragging rights.

Well I'll be damned. A ******* talking about leftovers. Sweetie you know Manny is the king of the microwave. And you my friend, are the king of hot air. Here, write another novel espousing the brilliance of sanctioning body rankings.

The whole leftover argument is bullshiiit. And Floyd is not being too smart to use it.

Are you telling me all of Floyd's wins that didn't come against undefeated fighters are suspect? Are these wins not relevant because those opponents happened to be somebody else's leftovers?

Ortiz is a really solid fighter for Mayweather to be fighting especially off 16 months away. I don't think even guys that rightfully criticize Mayweather would disagree with that other than complete haters.
