The funny thing is that when these fights where made they generated interest because of Manny's size and that's something people just so easily dismiss.

Manny has NO BUSINESS fighting these guys, yet he did and dominated them. So let's not get into who has fought the better competition as of late because neither guy has fought world beaters or fighters in their prime.

As far as Ortiz, wasn't it just 2 fights ago that Ortiz was a quitter, a fraud, a coward that would get destroyed by Berto? Now all of a sudden he's the best WW not named Manny or FLoyd?

Sorry man but you have to be consistent in your argument. I think BOTH manny and floyd are legendary fighters and neither is a coward, the problem is Floyd has come out of his ass with demands and the pride and ego fo Manny and Roach have said "*** that" to that bull****.
I didnt group Cotto with those guys. That was his last good win.

Those fights generated interest amongst casual fans who barely follow the sport. Fans who KNOW boxing KNEW that Pacquiao would handle them with ease. He did have business fighting them because Manny is a WW.

You might have me confused with some other guy I with a few others have actually criticized Ortiz where he needed and gave him props where needed and I picked him to beat Berto. So because of that win it easily makes himt he best WW not named Floyd or Pac. I mean who else has a case?

No actually they didnt say "**** it" they made their own ridiculous demand of a 10 Million dollar weight penalty when Floyd has NEVER EVER came in over the 147 Pound limit. Make me wonder, Floyd can accept a demand when he has never been guilty of it. Yet Pac cant accept a demand that he claims he hasnt been guilty of.

I never thought Victor was a coward, sometimes fighters lose its the character they bring back to there next fight that matters to me,Ray Leonard got his ass beat by Duran but instead of wilting he came back stronger and made Duran quit that is the heart of a fighter coming back from adversity, that loss to Victor i think was the best thing that could have happened to him,it made him train harder focus more, and in that Berto fight he had the eye of a man that refused to be beat.

I think that ortiz is a better opponent than JMM at 147, Shane, and Margs. EVERYONE and their mom has been clamoring for these guys to fight a young hungry legit fighter...ortiz is that. I know floyd's gonna win, but I'd rather see that fight than any of both guys last 3 fights easy.
I agree that Ortiz is a better fight but let's not be fooled here. Only 2 fights ago Ortiz was a coward and was going to be destroyed by Berto. Now all of a sudden Floyd fans want to make him out to be a prime Chavez.....let's be real here.

The more Floyd talks, the more people don't like him. He does this to himself, with the racist rants, playing the victim and talking about himself in the 3rd person, he's just very likable unless you are like him.

isnt that what manny pacquiao brings to the table??

Manny agreed to the normal testing, what he didn't agree with was the BLOOD testing, something that isn't done in pro boxing. There's a bit of a difference there don't you think?

So like I said, if you want to talk to children about this, I'm not the one. I'm not taking sides, I'm just making the point of where these two camps are coming from.
The hell are you talking about? lol Talking to you like a child? Man relax.

No thats not true. Manny agree to accept OST all of it. He accepted the blood testing as well. I dont know why people seem to forget this.

Where the problem lied was with the cutoff date FOR the blood testing not the blood testing in itself.

Asking for weight penalties is nothing new, asking for olympic style blood testing is.

Didn't Floyd come in over weight against JMM? hahaha, come on man, Floyd is the pot calling the kettle black.

You would see pacquiao taking challenges and mayweather still on vacation shouting "take the tests!" every couple months.

pacquiao should have focused on taking out all the legitimate opponents mayweather could have come back to fight, instead of taking easy fights and giving ortiz his chance against berto, which has led to mayweather-ortiz.

But the Nevada commission has a weight penalty already, just as they have drug and PED testing. Didn't Manny's demand, similiar to floyd's, go above and beyond the established commission's rules?

And to be fair, floyd came in at 146 for a 144lb bout. He has never, to my knowledge, failed to make weight for a 147 lb fight.
