I was shocked when Floyd made this fight,he is 34 years old and is taking on a 24 year old who looked huge at WW and beat up a very good Berto,it makes me think that Pacquiao is ducking the tests,not to mention Manny never speaks for himself he is like a puppet for Arum and Roach,its ok to tow the company line at times but i believe Manny has taken it a bit to far.
He fights Mosley who looked badly shot against a b level fighter in Mora,and is following it with a fight against Jmm years to late at a weight Jmm is clearly not effective at,but does that matter to the top rank crew hell no people are still paying to watch these crap fights against shells,at least Mayweather when he does fight goes after men coming off of huge wins.

You can't avoid the flaming when you talk about Pac and Floyd. But I am hoping that Floyd fighting Ortiz would pressure Team Pac to look for younger opponent for his next fight.

He made it known throughout the period of September '09 to July '10 (when Pac's date with Tony was confirmed) that he wanted the fight with tests, only rejecting questions about Pac during the months he was focusing on his prep to fight the next best guy, namely Mosley (y'know, that guy Pac wanted none of 'til Floyd beat Shane's ass and tested the water for your boy).

Right after the Mosley fight, "take the tests, we got a fight". but i will go for a vacation for a year or 2 first..

a couple points,

1) Manny's business hasn't been all that great lately, he's fighting crappy fights and certainly not building on the momentum he was creating by blowing out hatton and beating the bejesus out of cotto. it's been all downhill from there.
2) Floyd could be in his way to turning that around...if he is able to convinve people that he's the one who wants the fight and manny's the one who's ducking the tests. he hasn't done this enough, but he can if manny continues to be passive....

Manny generated 36 million dollars in his fights alone last year (most of any boxer by the way), that was 2 fights. That's not counting his clothing line and other ventures he has in the Philippines. His business is doing just fine.

Manny's passiveness is what has worked for him. While Floyd i barking and barking, Manny sites back, keeps busy and is more an more liked.

Also, are you really thinking Ortiz is a tough fight? Come on Walt, I thought you knew better. Ortiz is a warm up for what is to come, he is going to get out boxed very easily. If you think Maidana's right hand was landing.......
