I think the problem is because Roy NEVER had a competitive fight before 2003 we can never know for sure if he really was that good or the competition was that poor. It's all very well us saying a prime Roy would have beaten Tarver... but we'll never KNOW.

Has Roy improved or lessened his rep in your eyes with the last Tarver fight?

I gotta say i look at him slightly better not because of his performance of course but just for the fact that he got back in there with Tarver and faced his fears of getting KOed again.I mean it was obvious to me he was very tenative and really trying to avoid the KO more than trying to win most of the fight. It has to give him a little confidence and satisfaction knowing he got back in there and gave it his best shot.If he decides to fight again to eek out that 50th win he should not do it against tarver or Johnson IMO..he should go after a guy in the latter half of the top ten in the LHW division and should be able to win he still is better than most guys out there.

I agree. Roy is 36, there arent many fighters that can fight at the same level when they were 25-30 range when they are in the mid to late 30s.
I still remember Roy for demolishing Virgil Hill, Griffin, Toney, McCallum, and Ruiz.
Roy's still the best fighter of the past decade in my eyes.

And I never "overhype" "European nobodies". If I just TALK about a fighter you've not heard of (oh, what a crime!) does that mean I'm "overhyping" them?
And as for my topics "not making sense"... why am I being penalised because YOU'RE TO THICK TO UNDERSTAND THEM?!!!?
Just shut the **** up.

I gave you props befo on ta excellent topic "Is Barrera a big Puss Puss" becuz it's legit and easily undestood by many people. It was a HIT! Verry nice.
What I aint dig, is ta mentioning and overhypin of European nobodies, upcomers and has beens. I mean you gotta know yer audience too homie! If you make topic about a European nobody, ta only person that will respond to that topic is YER OTHA USERNAME/ALIAS! OK???!!!!
I know you can improve in making topics. That's TA reason I read em. Cuz I know.....1/100, you'll make an awesome topic. Nyahahahahaha!

I like Jones, but I always had doubts about his chin, and his killer instinct. Jones always had the reflexes to beat any opponent, and he rarely got hit. I enjoyed the Exhibitions he put on, but wanted to see what Roy would do under tough conditions.
Jones decided to play it safe on Saturday, no risk, and he fought a fight to avoid getting KOed. I will always say Jones was a great Athelete, with the best reflexes I have ever seen. I will not call him an all-time great.

hmm
Anyone who thinks Jones' legacy is any less than it is now is either...
A) a "noob" when it comes to boxing history
B) a hater of Roy Jones
C) A Brit
Ali's last fight was a lot worse than Roy's last fight. Ali took a beating and never had to lose 18 lbs of muscle like Roy did, since you wanna go there.
Roy's legacy is still the same. No better, no worse.
