I just find it quite insulting - not to say ignorant, rude, arrogant, etc. - that your opinion can be completely disregarded due to your race. Or, as S-L would have it, nationality.

Has Roy improved or lessened his rep in your eyes with the last Tarver fight?

Originally posted by KidBlackieOf course the Ruiz win was his pinnicle, but damn, he sure went to hell fast afterwards which sorta raises some questions about his Ruiz win. Mosley has had similar problems for obvious reasons. And no, Roy didn't have to lose 75 lbs of muscle either or whatever his fans are claiming!
F**king hell!... LOL ... Ricky Hatton puts on 40lbs between fights but you don't hear him bitching about it... In fact he actually laughs about it like after the Tszyu fight wearing the t-shirt - "THERE'S ONLY ONE RICKY FATTON!".
The only reason Roy Jones Junior may have had problems shifting 25lbs is because of a thing called - Steroid abuse.

The Johnson and Tarver fights have no weight on my opnion about Roy Jones. Jones clearly washed up by this time in his career. He was amazing in his day, but his reflexes are clerarly not what they used to be.
He aint the first great fighter to go on a losing streak at the end and he wont be the last.

I hate the whole American view towards the nationalistic thing. It irritates me... It's Arrogant crap that has no place in Boxing, yet unfortunatly there are ignorant people that think it makes a difference.
But putting that aside... I have never had a problem with weight... (Maybe because as an amatuer from 11yrs-17yrs I spent 5 days a week down the gym, and I had a healthy upbringing). I made a lot of friends down the gym so I would hang around there after school.
It is however worth mentioning that between the Ruiz and 1st Tarver fight, there was over 8 months of time to re-adjust weight for Roy, and that's only coming down 25lbs bareing in mind he was fully clothed on the scales for the Ruiz fight. (In truthg he didn't really have much to shed if you take away steroids).
I don't dislike RJJ... I'm just tired of all the excuses and how his fans seem to have there head in the sands and make excuses for him.
It's the Manchester United syndrome... If someone keeps telling you that they're the best all the time, but do jack **** to back it up, you start to get really irritated with it, especially when there are PROPER GREATS out there at the same time like Barrera/Morales/Pacquiao/Corrales putting everything on the line EVERY FIGHT!

and that sounds about right. around 11-17 i had no problems with weight either...right around 20-ish i started to 'hurt' trying to make weight (of course i also got too fixated with weights...which wasn't the smartest thing to do)

Roy attracts more bull**** than any other fighter (with the possible suggestion of Wlad) though. If you dare to suggest he isn't the second coming of God (or - horror! - that his chin isn't made out of concrete (you don't say?)) then you're a "hater".
Nah... I'm just discussing good points and bad points objectively, that's what I'm doing. But who am I to talk? I'm only a Brit.
