To me, the worst type of fighter for Khan is someone who's quick on his feet or good at cutting off the ring, someone who can throw short hooks on the inside and not allow Khan to get any distance, guys like a prime Hatton or Miguel Cotto.

Amir Khan is big himself and he even acknowledges that, stating that he plans to end his career at 154. So how can Mike Jones be a bad style match up when Jones is gonna give Khan the distance to operate, Khan operates best from long range. Khan is still the quicker of the two, the better combination puncher, the better athlete, simply the better boxer. How the hell does Jones beat him?

and he the rematch was impressive enough. it wasnt that close of a fight, imo. ur underrating the guy. but im not gonna talk junk about it, just keep watching. i dunno if hes gonna be great, mebbe not. but i think hes gonna be a force in the ww division if he stays there, no doubt about it.
No he's not, Peterson has a big frame, 5'9, 74 inch reach, from the very start...I always said Peterson could move up to 147 and do well there. He's actually one of the bigger 140 pounders.

In the bold, maybe, maybe not. 147 is a crap division, I'm waiting for these Jr WWs to move up and make some noise.

He may not be,but he fights a relentless style of fighting which I believe would still give Ortiz problems..Like I said see what happen with Maidana(a limited pressure fighter)Ortiz has no defense and can't fight going backwards..

maidana is not quick on his feet and he is not at all good at closing the ring off. khans footwork is ****. his defense is ****. he has fast hands no inside game. there are many ways to beat him. he didnt look good in his last fight. dont overrate him, to me hes no better than jones. he has achieved more i give u that, but thats because hes in the better division. but i have seen nothign from him that screams he is gonna be a great fighter at 147.

lamont peterson fights at 140 because his brother fights at 135. if his brother didnt fight there, hed be there. peterson has no power, his build is not huge and he might be tall but thats it. he does not belong at 147, i dont see him wanting go there any time soon.

Yeah, but Jones has no inside game himself, is he or is he not gonna give Amir Khan the room to operate? Maidana ain't all that, but at least we know he has the style to make Khan uncomfortable, I honestly can't say the same for Jones.

I don't know about Khan being great at 147 or not, he too has a lot to work on, but again, crappy division. Trust me, I've been very critical of Khan when it pertains to his skill set, only stating what I'm seeing in both him and Jones.

I strongly doubt Peterson can get down to 135, I'm already certain he struggles to make 140. Guys like Khan, Devon Alexander, Lamont Peterson, Kendal Holt (When he campaigned at 140) I always viewed those guys as WWs. I know he isn't the best puncher, but again we're talkin' about a guy who has a pretty big frame, is 5'9 and has a 74 reach. Lets say he isn't that big (Which I strongly disagree on) he'd still beat Mike Jones.

All this is making me believe more and more that Pac and Arum don't want nothing to do with Mayweather.

With his higher profile and buy rate, not inconceivable he makes $80 for a 3 fight stretch.

Mike Jones isn't ready for Pacquiao, and Arum knows this. That's why he said 'that's a stretch' in regards to matching them up in the Spring. He's using Manny's name to build up Mike, just doing his job as a promoter. People want to know who Pac is fighting in his next few fights and if you link the name 'Mike Jones' with him, then all of a sudden people are interested in learning more about him, watching his fights, searching for him on youtube, etc. Same thing Golden Boy does with Floyd- when Guerrero, Maidana, Khan, etc win fights, first thing that happens is Schaefer (or the fighters themselves) come out saying they want Mayweather next.

Just a smart way to get people talking about a particular fighter. But I can definitely see Jones taking on Pacquiao late next year after he's tested against better comp.
of course i know its smart on bobs part because he will hype it and make the most out of the situation. its his job to sale us dreams and make fights big to maximize the earnings. but as fans it sucks because its all lies. . and i believe thats 52 million on everythng manny has done not just his 2 fight purses. manny has alot of endorcments as well.
