Age does not reflect anything. Some fighter peak past age 30(Hopkins, Martinez, Johnson as recent examples). And, if you haven't fought a type of top comp. Then you might not be ready at whatever age you're. But, if he shows he can handle the likes of Brooks, Berto, Ortiz, and guys on that level. Then we can say he's ready. So far he hasn't showed it. that's where the whole "he's not ready" comes from sir.

Jeez you are a piece-of-**** ArumTop Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum was impressed by the performance of unbeaten Philadelphia welterweight Mike Jones during Saturday night's second round stoppage of Raul Munoz of Topeka, Kan., at the South Philly Arena, marking the 28-year-old's 25th victory without a loss and his 19th knockout.

Lol let them think that because some magazine says it.manny has never made 60 80 mill in 3 fights and he def not going to make it fighting bradley n jones. hes not floyd when it comes to what he makes. he might earn it but after everyone gets their cuts he will walk away with a lil chunk.
and mike jones is young but is very un proven. this is from arum who just said the WBC champion is a little green for floyd? but jones is good for manny? shows his respect for floyd. ortiz fought maidana peterson cambell berto harris. much better names than mike jones who got a gift in first soto fight and won a lackluster rematch.
After the 30% from Arum, 15% from Roach, who knows how many from Koncz and Gacal!? He still makes $80 mill for 3 fights!? He'd have to be selling 2million PPVs at 70-30 split per fight and selling out arenas with $10k front row seats to make that much money.
$60 Mill for 3 fights is more believable, but Forbes does not subtract the 30% and 15% that Roach gets from there.
It's Like A-Rod singed that 10-year $270Mill contract with the Yankees, so he makes about $30Mill a year. But Forbes does not subtract the 10% a year that A-Rod has to pay to agent Scott Boras, do the math, how much is Boras getting from that.
Same with NBA, same with NFL, same with NHL. If you're "reportedly getting signed for $16MM", yeah sure buddy, you gotta pay your agent some of that.
If things worked like that, that Pacquiao actually makes a full $20Mill from his recent fights, he wouldn't be fighting right now. People just don't know how pro sports work, it's not just as simple as "Mike Tyson got a total of $300Mill in his whole career", yeah sure keep thinking that lol.Comment

very valid points.....Who are these "good" fighters? Berto?
And, you underrating Karass bro. Ortiz or Berto would have their hands full with Karass. Karass is a poorman Margarito. They don't look like much, they look like they have no skills. But, they do little subtle that makes it tough for you in the ring.
Could Ortiz beat Jones? Yea maybe. But, it won't be easy. And, I also think Jones could beat Ortiz.
if pbf vs vic is legit.....
pac vs m.j. is legit too......

Umm...Well no, not if MJ doesn't hold a win against top 10 opponent like Ortiz does.
Even though I think MJ would beat Ortiz, is just my opinion. I'm not convince by Ortiz and I been a fan of Jones for years now. Ever since his Telefutura days. I think Mike Jones is better than Ortiz.
The fact is, One, Ortiz is a title holder. Two, holds a win against a top 5 fighter in the division. Jones has neither of those going for him.
So to say "if Ortiz is legit, then so is MJ" is idiotic. If you look into the factors going in.Comment
