Ortiz is the harder puncher, he has consistently put opponents on their asses with one punch. That being said Manny is the faster more accurate puncher.

Both fighters have dropped opponents with one shot. The question is whom have each knocked down with one shot.

I say thats its pretty close if you ask me. Manny generates his power from his legs as he lunges forward with that little hop stop hop straight left he uses as his go to ko punch. What Manny does is he feints a straight attack and usually gets his opponent to commit to either block it or takes a half step back because they think they are out of range but when manny stops in the middle of the hop forward he just momentarily stops but then just lunges forward with all his body weight behind him and that straight left reaches about an extra 6 or 8 inches further than it would have if he hadnt feinted and then hopped the second time. Its kinda like punching through your opponent. He gets away with it most of the time because his footwork is so fuc&ing fast. The only person Ive seen who knows how to read that attack and take a whole step back to take Manny's power away from that shot is Marquez. When Manny lunges at him with that attack, Marquez takes the same amount of distance back to not get the full effect of Manny's power from that shot. Most fighters for some reason dont notice that they eat that damn feint and fall for it time and time again.

Ortiz's power is different he has more of a "oh ****, this kid hits fuc&ing hard" kind of power. Somebody previously said that Ortiz has dropped guys with single shots and so has Manny but Ortiz's shots have hurt guys even when they seem to be arm shots and by arm shots I mean he doesnt really have his body weight behind the shot and he still hurts guys . Ive read that in many Gyms around the country where Ortiz has trained that he is known for having brutal power and that he can hurt just about anyone if he lands on you with that right hook. Ortiz is a natural right handed fighter who fights out of a southpaw stance so when opponents catch a right hook they just find themselves getting up as the ref is counting. Look at his fight with Maidana( yeah I know he lost it but that was a mental/heart issue, not power related) he put Maidana on the canvas more than a couple times with single shots and you can tell Maidana was thinking "Fuc& this kid can crack". Then I see Khan who i supposed to have good power too hit Maidana flush all night long with straight right crosses and not once drop him with a shot to the head but Ortiz puts him down everytime he lands that right hook.

Punch for punch i say Ortiz has the heavier hands but Manny's footwork makes it up for him and he punches almost as hard as Ortiz IMHO.

Put it this way, I think Floyd will beat Ortiz but if Floyd fuc&s up and catches one of those right hooks he will go down watch!

Ortiz punches very hard, but the only people who think Ortiz punches harder than Pacquiao are those looking for more reasons to make Ortiz seem like a dangerous opponent for Floyd.

BTW, i do think Ortiz is a great opponent and give Floyd major props for taking this fight, but cut the BS already

And Yes I also believe that Ortiz could drop the version of Mosley that Pac just fought with one punch too, he wouldnt knock him out but drop him, im sure of it. Mosley's punch resistance isnt what it used to be just like B-Hops.
