Like I said, the kid doesn't need to piggyback of other people to get ratings and sell tickets. He's already a headliner at his age, which is pretty remarkable.
Floyd was a victim of timing. He had to compete with HW's and DLh. Canelo is definitely a benefactor of his timing. Canelo has way less comp for the spotlight and ***in red hair. Throw in some power and of course he's a star.

Which means he doesnt fight undercards.

Canelo has comp- floyd and manny. Why is floyd always a victim or some sort?

and maybe, it might be kinda unlikely but, maybe he also doesn't want to give Mayweather ppv buys...he knows he's a big attraction, why give Mayweather that added attention, when he can take it for himself....sometime later in his career.

but I get what he's sayin, he thinks, he's the main attraction and doesn't want to share a stage beside Mayweather, or more like under Mayweather.

Ryan Rhodes has pretty decent power to be honest.

He's not like Matthew Hatton who literally has no power what so ever.

DLH was much more popular than Manny or Floyd at this stage. Throw in Mosley, Trinidad, and Lewis in the mid 90's then it really cant be argued. If he's gonna keep fighting this level of comp (not that its bad) its easily an undercard. Now if he does fight a Cotto or even Chavez (not that he's a step up but a big name) then no he shouldnt fight under Floyd. His PPV numbers would be terrible if he's fighting Wolak or any fights other than the two above and possibly Martinez. Atleast I know I wouldnt buy any fights outside those. Would you?

Richard Schaefer said he wanted to do a split site type of event.

Mayweather vs Ortiz as the main event at MGM Las vegas, and Alvarez vs Mayorga as the main event at Staples Center in LA.

Alvarez would technically be a main event of his show at Staples. He could fight around
              7:00pm pacific time.

While Mayweather would be the main event of his show at MGM. He could fight around
              8:00pm pacific time.

Put both on the same PPV card and it would be epic.
Alvarez is a future star but no way can he alone generate over 1 million PPV buys.

              Floyd Mayweather can................
That would be over 1 million buyers who will also see Alvarez.

Not to mention that most buyers have an average of 3-7 people over to their houses to watch the fights.

              Can someone say fight party?
              I can't wait.

Floyd just wasnt that popular, not because of those other fighters.

Again, there is zero reason for canelo to make money for other fighters. He's wildly popular. Remind me how many times floyd fought undercards? How bout oscar once he got a belt?

Thinking that saul alvarez needs floyd's undetcard on mexican imdepejdence day is the dumbest shi t i heard in awhile. If alvarez had a competing ppv that day, he would take a substantial chunk of floyds ppv and probaby sell very well.

                  Please..........

A Mayweather fight doesn't need Alvarez to sell.
He will do over 1 million every time he fights. Regardless of who is on the undercard.

                  Alvarez wouldn't sell 100,000.
                  Chavez Jr wouldn't sell 100,000.

Yes both have a good following but come on son.
If Alvarez could generate big PPV buys then he would be doing it right now.

Just because you have a mexican fan base doesn't make you a PPV attraction.

Margarito,Marquez,Morales,Barrera, all had a huge mexican fan base but never became as big as Pacquiao and Mayweather when it comes to PPV buys.

A star in Mexico is one thing.
A star in the US is another.

I like the way Canelo is thinking, I'm finally jumping on the Canelo bandwagon and hope he delivers in the upcomming years.

Do you also know that Canelo has Televisa promoting him a lot right? Televisa has billions of dollars, and they're investing a lot in publicity for Canelo Alvarez. For his last fight against Hatton, they invested more than 5 million dollars just in Mexico to promote him as the next mexican superstar. Yeah, he's selling a lot of seats, but this guy has had more promotion than any other in years.
