I don't think he's overrated at all. i think people talk **** on him cuz most of his fights don't have kos but he puts a clinic on everyone he faces. he has boxing smarts and see him boxing till hes 40. he really is class above most.
Andre Ward has fundamentals and can adapt his fighting style very well. we saw that not only can he box but he can brawl and fight dirty as seen from his fight with bikaComment

Ward is overrated because he doesn't get Knock Outs? This Thread really make no sense and I think it is strange and funny that you have to mention OVER AND OVER that your "AMERICAN" and "He Is Overrated Because He Is American" "I Don't Care That He Is American" if it doesn't matter then why did you mention it so many times...hmmm
So we should over look the fact that he has pretty much dominated every fight he has been in for that Super 6 and just focus on the fact that he choose to be a SMART FIGHTER and not just depend on his POWER...Froch is a guy known for his Power and he hasn't KO'd anybody so far in this Tournament, how far did Abraham get with "POWER" other then Knocking Jermaine Taylor out, ever since then he has been OUTCLASSED in every fight he was in during this Tournament
It is more to boxing then just POWER, a lot of you clearly don't understand that, you think boxing is just two guys standing and throwing wild punches until someone go down (GO WATCH THE UFC THEN IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT!)...some people have NO APPRECIATION or UNDERSTAND of the other ASPECTS of BOXING that is why so many of them B!TCH AND COMPLAIN about certain Boxing Styles
it also takes two people to put on a good fight by the way, it is not Ward's fault that his opponents SKILLS are not up to par, so when he fights it is basically just him SCHOOLING HIS OPPONENT IN A ONE SIDED MATCH...OF COURSE THAT IS GOING TO BORING!!! But it is not Ward job to LET ABRAHAM HIT HIM So fans can be ENTERTAINED, if Abraham is too slow to Land Clean on Ward then that is HIS FAULT...NOT WARD!
Bottom Line Ward is a TECHNICALLY SOUND YOUNG FIGHTER and is probably already one of the most complete fighters in Boxing Today...he don't need to change NOTHING he is doing...JUST KEEP WINNING!
He is already one of the best P4P, already at the top of his division and he is just getting started!Last edited by KnockUTheFukOut; 06-18-2011, 07:59 PM.Comment

I like Ward. I think he's an excellent technical fighter with a wide array of skills. He has won decisively and deserves his spot in the Super Six final.
But ... we cannot discount entertainment as an important factor. Absolutely, the sport is about hitting and not being hit. Ward embraces this maxim fully and we should commend his success. But does this alone constitute entertainment? I'm of two minds on this issue. Whilst I love to watch someone like Floyd Mayweather execute a boxing masterclass - there's another part of me that just wants to see him get involved in a tear up.
This is why I appreciate Froch. He lacks Ward's natural talent (whilst being no one's mug) but he more than makes up for it with guts, bravado and balls-to-the-wall entertainment.
I think it's great that these two are in the final. Ward will start as the clear favourite. But Froch will do everything in his power to try and carve out some kind of angle. And Ward will need to be at the top of his game for the full twelve rounds because his opponent will not hesitate to take an opportunity right up to the final bell.Comment

Entertainment has ZERO to do with determining who is a good fighter and who isn't. That's what is being discussed. Anyone who determines who is a good fighter and who is better between two fighters with entertainment being a factor at all is a moron.I like Ward. I think he's an excellent technical fighter with a wide array of skills. He has won decisively and deserves his spot in the Super Six final.

I'm sorry. I didn't realise we are living in some kind of deterministic boxing universe where subjectivity and personal taste have no place. I'll just sit here with my "moron" hat on and allow you to be the dictatorial arbiter of greatness. Have fun.Comment
