It doesn't matter, 400 amateur fights is a lot of experience.

I said it's deceptive which it is.

Fighting exclusively on the American Continent as a HW doesn't mean a whole lot. Jason Estrada was 3X SHW US National Champion, how has he done as a pro? That's about the best someone like Ortiz would have fought aside from probably losing to Solis a dozen times or so.

Seems most heavies go untested these days so they can get a title shot if they are undefeated. I think they learn more if they fought better competition.

Thanks for posting those videos, man. Perez has an unusual way of boxing. He throws punches almost like a martial artist. His left is especially weird looking. I'm tempted to say that Mike has been influenced by watching Manny Pacquiao. Ironically enough, the Cuban from Cork resembles a black Bolo Yeung (Bruce Lee's nemesis in "Enter the Dragon" and Van Damme's foe in "Bloodsport"). lol

Perez has potential. At 25 years old, Mike is young enough to be a true prospect. He's got plenty of time to make any necessary improvements to his game. I'll have my eye on him from now on.

estrada is a C+ fighter but isnt a bad pro.he can take a punch & box but is feather fisted which really hurts him in this division.he's a poor man's kevin johnson...big guy, good chin but no power....neven pajkic is like this too.

Perez is good, but i'm very curious as to how you think Ortiz is "fat, mediocre out of shape etc." he dropped and stopped zack page, a very durable journeyman who Perez went the full 8 round distance with..He dropped and dominated Kendrick Releford in his 3rd pro fight. beat up Oliver Mcccall in sparring before he even turned pro, not saying that's some great feat..but to say he's mediocre and out of shape is a little ridiculous. Pay a little more attention to the guy and you'll prove yourself quite wrong on this one. the guy is a lean 6'4 235 pound heavyweight..matter of fact he weighed 229 in his last fight.
