I don't want to give Martinez a pass, but I'll be okay with what he's doing as long as it's a one time thing.
Yeah he's implying that, but I can't see the UK money for Barker being much higher than the Russian(/German, if he has a profile there) money for Pirog.

If he said that Pirog wanted a bigger share of the pot than Barker then I think that's an understandable reason. Not that I would fully agree with a boxer choosing a lesser opponent for more money, but it makes some sense. But to me it just seems as if they are pulling out whatever random excuses come to mind, and the UK TV money just isn't a good one IMO.

I don't know how a guy with 50 pro fights would be seen as ducking for not fighting a guy with 18 pro fights. Who ever believes this is ducking, is out of their god damn mind, and should retire from posting.

You fight Williams, Cintron, Dzinzuruk, call out Angulo when you were at 154, Cotto, want the best..But you're gonna call this guy a ducker for not wanting to fight a guy with...18 fights, and...1 decent win.

      Please.

          Stop man, seriously.

Everytime you discuss a topic you come out with random BS figures out of left-field to justify your view.

"How can it be a duck when he has 50 fights and the other guy has 18?"

WTF is that? That's not a valid point, it's just random.

            Common sense?

Well, we agree that Martinez is willing and eager to fight anybody. From Floyd to Pac to P-Will to Cotto to Pavlik all the way down to Manfredo, Chavez Jr, Sturm, Zbik, Lee, Barker.

But, why not Pirog? Why are they're not so eager to fight Pirog like they're with the others?

            Lets use common sense.

He's not eager to fight Ryan Rhodes or Golovkin either.

But, they really haven't made a push for a Martinez fight though.

Golovkin has been having promotional contracts which would make it hard to make a fight, and has been more so chasing the likes of Sturm N'Jikiam(SP?) than a fight with Martinez.

Rhodes also hasn't really pushed for a Martinez bout. I think Rhodes beats Alvarez i think Martinez would go after him or maybe not. But, until then I won't criticize him for this.

However, the Pirog fight, is a head scratcher. You have a fellow title holder who's damn near begging for a fight. It's hard for you to get big fights. Yet you chose to ignore a unification bout? Makes no sense at all.

The point is hes fighting a less worthy opponent than Pirog.

i think danny jacobs is better than anyone martinez has beaten. id take jacobs over pavlik and paul williams. ****, why doesn't martinez fight jacobs at madison square garden? Dibella and De La Hoya should make it happen.
