Does a Haye win vs THIS Klitschko validate him as a ATG HW?

he would surpass Evander in my opinion. put it this way, anyone who thinks the Klitshko's should have a place in history should give Haye his just due if he wins. especially if he wins by knockout.

ofcourse he'd have to face Vitali and win, but in this era of the heavy's he will be remembered for putting the division back on prime time, and that in itself would deserve something.

If he KO's them both then he's a Hall of Famer imo. Maybe not first-ballot, but he'd get in eventually.

But he wouldn't be an ATG. Let's face it, both Klits are past-prime and have fought in a very very poor HW division. Both are future hall of famers, but not ATGs. Haye KO'ing them basically means Haye is better than past-prime Klits, who aren't ATGs themselves... Could he KO them in their primes? Maybe Wlad, but certainly not Vitali.

I don't think you can be considered an ATG if you retire with only 7 world title fights (Marciano and exception because he fought great fighters), especially if a couple of those fights were against poor opposition (i.e. Harrison & Ruiz). If Haye retires and his resume only consists of wins over the following then he certainly can't be considered an ATG:

- past-prime Vitali
- past-prime Wlad
- past-prime Ruiz
- Nikolai Valuev
- Enzo Maccarinelli
- Jean Marc Mormeck
- Audley Harrison
- Monte Barrett
- Giacobbe Fragomeni

However the fact that he became Undisputed + Lineal champion at CW and HW probably gets him his place at Canastota.

But if he beats the Klits and doesn't retire straight away and clears out the division and beats all those put in front of him for a couple years, e.g. the likes of Adamek, Povetkin, Chagaev, Helenius, Thompson, Chisora, Fury etc. Then his would look much better and perhaps he could be considered an ATG Heavyweight, albeit a low-ranking one.

so the clincher in your eyes wouldn't be to win by KO vs BOTH the bros but beating bums (Adamek is the only one in your list not a bum) after that??? hmmmmmm........interesting......

To be fair to Haye, Vitali is not an ATG heavyweight either. Wlad is, because of how long he has ruled the division. Haye beating the two of them doesn't make him an ATG heavyweight because in order to be remembered as that great within a division, you have to stay there and prove your dominance.
