    • if cotto is saying no to a fight with martinez at 154 then he has a point. if its 160 then martinez cant expect cotto to come up.

      • Cotto is not better than Martinez at any facet of the sport apart from body punching and taking a knee.

Speed, heart, stamina, power, chin, footwork, jab, ring IQ and charisma all belong to Martinez.

Cotto would be battered at 154 and near dead at 160 I don't blame him for avoiding fighting Martinez and not even shaking Martinez' hand.

Martinez would get no credit for a Cotto win now this was spoken about before the Floyd fight.

hard to say, martinez hasnt fought anywhere near the standard of opposition that cotto has.

          • Miguel is the man, but Martinez is a no-no.

Too much speed, too much skill, too much power....just not a good idea.

Pretty irrelevant. Cotto has lost to most of the best guys he's fought. Styles make fights and Sergio would probably end Miguel's career

I cant even think of a gameplan theyd make for Martinez... Jab/box him? Lol yeah right. Get him on the inside? Loses that too, Martinez is bigger and arguably a better inside fighter. Cotto wouldnt even be able to work the body and he'd have his body punished from a distance himself...couple that with his less than stellar stamina and I just hate this matchup for Cotto. It really is a career ending type fight. Id be like fighting a slicker, bigger, stronger Pac. :|...

yeah, the fight itself can play out any different way. i just understand how one could say no to this fight if martinez is willing to go down to 154 to face him. i mean maybe even cotto comes up to 160, there was talks about him trying to snag a MW title to make history, or something. who's a smaller MW champ atm than martinez?

                    • the only way Cotto can beat THE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD is if they fight at 150.....MARTINEZ would KO that ass at 154 or 160.. he will never make the 12round mistake ever again...He just wanted to show the world that he´s got more balls than that little TOP RANK *****... HE NEVER HELD OR BACKED UP...STAYED TOE TO TOE AND FOUGHT ALL THE WAY UNTIL THE END OF THE ROUND.. thats what REAL champions do..
