Manny Pacquiao is more like, I don't want to compare Manny to Duran, but that's how I see Manny, as Floyd's Duran, but watered down. And also I don't see Floyd going toe to toe with Pacquiao like Leonard did with Duran.

      You're over thinking this buddy.

I was talking about the magnitude of the fight, in context to Roger's reference to Hagler, not whether Pacquiao resembles Duran on Hagler in fighting style or size.

Actually it's smart move by Floyd. If he takes Pac right away after Pac KOed Hatton, it could be his last payday. He fooled his fans for another 2 fights with JMM & Mosley. I never paid for it though! I'm smarter than the *****s!

            Fair enough.

But I still see Segio=Middlweight as Floyd's Hagler=MW. And Pacquiao as Floyd's Duran at 147.

And I was not around at that time, but I thought Duran vs Leonard was a bigger fight than Leonard-Hagler? I am not claiming this, I am asking this, which was the bigger fight, or would you say they were equally as big? I know Leonard vs Hagler was a superfight. But for some reason, when I was a kid growing up, I always heard more of Leonard vs Duran than Leonard vs Hagler, as I got older and started looking in to boxing myself, I learned about how big Leonard vs Hagler was. But I thought "mainstream" wise, Leonard vs Duran was the more popular fight.

Shed some light on this, since you are older than I am. I'd like to know.

I don't know, I was born in 85, so I didn't watch Boxing at that time either.

But from everything I've seen, Leonard-Hearns >>> Hagler, Duran fights.

If you take into account both criteria,

                1. The ranking/status of both fighters at that time, including their respectable primes.

                2. The magnitude and hype up of the fight.

Hagler-Leonard was a big fight, but one guy was a retired fighter with no official title or ranking, and considered past his best. The other was an active Middleweight Champ. That to me resembles more Delahoya-Mayweather than anything. With one guy being the most famous attraction in Oscar (but inactive and only boxing part-time), and the other an active P4P King and Welterweight Champ.

Hearns-Leonard was a fight between two prime, active champions at the same weight class. And it was hyped to death. The story leading up to that fight was that Leonard was ducking Hearns. Sugar's people said that the fight is only going to get bigger because of it and it did. That's Pacquiao-Mayweather.

Lol I know what you mean with Mayweather-Pacquiao being Leonard -Hearns of the 2000s, because of it's hype and magnitude. But in this era, Mayweather's Hearns is a bit short.

Kind of off topic, I think Mayweather-Pacquiao would be way less competitive than Leonard-Hearns.

I think I could listen to Uncle Roger talk for the rest of my life "said, yeah. He said how was he? I said he wasn’t **** to me. I handled him easy. We never fought in the real ring because he already knew what time it was. I used to bake that ass every day. Boom! He asked me right before that fight. I ain’t had no problems with all of that but boom! But I guess he thought he would just maybe walk in there without training. That’s where he was at.”

My ribs are hurting from laughter.
