Pernell Whitaker made Julio Cesar Chavez look bad

I just re-watched this fight the other day and after the first two rounds "Sweet Pea" boxed circles around Chavez. Chavez looked completely demoralized on his stool. Man, if only Pernell had power....... That fight was just another example of Pernell's greatness.

Time age and 88 fights made Chavez look bad I would have had more respect for Whitaker if he had fought a Prime Chavez. Like right after the Meldrick Taylor bout. Team Duva knew what they were doing and fought Chavez at the right time. It's like saying Carlos Bojorquez made Whiterker look bad when he a C level Journey man whip his ass.

PERNELL WHITAKER MADE JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY HE FOUGHT LOOK BAD!

His style was extremely difficult to deal with and if you was able to get out of that fight with a Controversial Decision you took that and stayed the hell away from him like Chavez and Oscar did lol

lol whitaker makes everyone look bad.

that dude was greased lightening in a phone booth. i doubt we will ever again see such masterful execution of defensive wizardry. what really made whitaker stand out above other highly skilled defensive fighters, though, was his ability to TRANSITION between defense and offense. in other words, he wouldn't just make you miss, but more than likely he would make you pay. . . dearly. . .
