Pernell was in his prime, and put on a great performance. He obviously won the fight. JCC wasn't in his prime though. If they fought three or four years prior I would give Pernell alot more credit. It was a good performance none the less and he clearly won.

the fight was at a catchweight so it doesn't even matter what happened or who won.

I remember saying this one time when a Chavez troll was ripping on Manny for the Cotto fight, that Chavez fought for Whitaker's title at 145, and the guy went crazy calling me a liar, with like five exclamation points after every sentence.

I doubt Sweet P was in his prime either. They were waiting for an older man, but he never come.

Its because he didnt have power he became what he did, same for Floyd mayweathe and BH. And hundreds of other ATG fighters
            .
exactly. Had he been born with power, he never would have learned all the fundamentals like he did.

incidently, his power wasnt bad at all. His KOs over Hurtado, Nazario and Lomeli were all very good, and he was able to stun and/or drop a number of tough bastards over his career.

.....and Chavez didnt look bad in that fight, he did ok even though he should have lost...only McGrit had given Whitaker that much trouble during his prime.

Exactly. Its because Pea knew he didnt hit as hard as some others he had to evolve and add as much to his arsenal as he could do. If he could hit with ridiculous power he would just rely on the one punch to ko his opponents.

Thats why i dont like it when people say if only Pea had power he would be something special and unbeatable. Thats like saying if Pac was slick he would be the complete package and the best fighter of all times and nations.
