Five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr believes that a win against WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz in September will propel him back into the top pound for pound fighters in the world. The 34 year-old faces Ortiz, ten years his junior, after a sixteen month spell out of the ring and aims to win his ninth world title.

Mayweather you need to just STFU!! You need to fight Pacquiao, say you're going to fight pacquiao or just retire.
You are a great fighter, you really are, but your tactics are getting old.

Pacquiao refuses to fight Mayweather x3 already.

I bet Floyd regrets picking Victor Ortiz. Ha ha, should have picked Khan or Timothy Duckins. Too late now, ha ha.

Lets hope the speculation is true. The hype is definitely going to be there. All that's left is to step to the plate. The preshow mumbo jumbo has drug on long enough, time to get on the main stage and preform. No more "tune ups", "vacations", "breaks", time to step the *** up.

Out of all the casual fans of boxing that were asked who wins Floyd vs. Ortiz. 90% of these people said "Whos Victor Ortiz"?

Ortiz is a no name to these casual fans that are willing to dish out the PPV dollars but are now reconsidering since Ortiz isnt even a big name in the sport

... Fans are once again shaking their head wondering "WHY ISNT FLOYD FIGHTING PACMAN'?

Lets see, Pacman fought Morales x3, MAB 2x, Marquez 2x (and going on a 3rd), fought the bigger Hatton, DLH, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito at the 154 (Cotto, Clottey, and Marg at 154, something Floyd would NEVER DO), weight class, and Mosley..

You seriously think Pacman is ducking Mayweather..

              Please shoot yourself...

How is Ortiz is "solid" foe when he gets knocked down multiple times in alot of his fights? I mean he quit against Maidana and Khan and Morales made it to the final bell against him.

Floyd has been eating to much popeyes his brain has turned into slush.

Pacquiao lost to Morales and arguably lost twice to Marquez. Morales was way past his prime and Marquez is smaller, older, and slower.

Pac beat MAB, who fights nothing like Mayweather and is flat footed.

Hatton, already dominated by Floyd and went on a crack / alcohol spree after getting his 0 taken. Shot fighter.

Margarito, no hand-wraps = no power. Slow, no defense, flat footed, drained at a catch-weight. Destroyed by Mosley.

DLH. LOL, complete zombie. I'd pick anyone at 135 - 147 to beat that version of Oscar.

Cotto, plastered by Margarito. 145 catchweight. Weak chin, no defense, flat footed. Past prime damaged goods.

                  Clottey, beat nobody...

I think Pacquiao has a lot of reasons to avoid Mayweather. He poses the style that beat him 3 times already at a much higher level.

Cotto was knocked down or stunned BADLY in most of his fights at 140. He then quit against Margarito at 147. Pacquiao fought him a catch-weight, LOL

At least Ortiz is coming off a winning streak and is the REAL WBC champion. Not a paper-belt shot fighter such as Cotto was, earning his paperbelt vs Michael Jennings.
