How is Marquez "ineffective" because he loss to Floyd?

Seriously? How does that prove ANYTHING? Marquez is a boxer. He's not a come forward brawler, he does his best when people come at him. Who really thought he remotely stood ANY chance against Floyd who's a bigger better version of himself?

How does that prove anything? Especially when it's the same BS reasons from the 2nd fight that everybody's counting Marquez out. "Pac's awhole lot better, awhole lot faster and stronger." THEN WHAT HAPPENED? Pac only won because of a knockdown to the judges, but 50% of the sport still thinks Marquez won...

DON'T COUNT HIM OUT! IT'S DOWNRIGHT FOOLISH!

Because the only time he has ever weighed above 135, physcially, he looked a mess.

    /thread.

That's ****** as ****. Who hasn't looked a mess after fighting Floyd? Styles make fights. It's downright ******ed to count Marquez out against Pac after he already gave Pac all he could handle twice, and it's the same bull***** reasons as to why people counted him out in the 2nd fight.

Your Floyd fan boy so I wouldn't expect you to understand.

Are you asking who hasn't looked a mess physcially against Floyd at WW?

        Mitchell
        Judah
        Baldomir
        Hatton
        Mosley

One did though. It was Marquez.

Well it's not the same bull**** as the 2nd fihgt because the 2nd fight was at 130, A weight both proved they could fight well at physically.

        Marquez above 135? Different matter.

The only time that Marquez has fought above 135 he physically looked a mess. This is a fact. He actually admits this.

Yeah I'm such a Floyd fanboy. I discredit his fight with Marquez and claim he avoided Antonio Margarito in 2006 but I am totally a fanboy.

I only discredit Marquez for Pac and not for Floyd, right?

        Use your brain.

And, claiming Marquez isn't physically a mess when he weighs in above 135 despite the fact we have video evidence he physically looks terrible at the weight and despite Marquez actually admits this, is downright ******ed.

don't think jmm was a mess physically against floyd. he looked a little bit slower than usual but he was able to picked himself up from a 2nd round kd and was able to finish the fight on his feet.
the more valid reason whey he was ineffective was because floyd took out his counterpunching. he was forced to intiate the offense and try to cut the distance because floyd was fighting him from the outside and that played well in the hands of floyd. jmm was like a fish out of the water.
when jmm fought chris john, he also had a hard time and that was a featherweight fight. not saying he was as ineffective but again he wasn't couterpunching in that fight. john tried to box him all night and use a lot of ring movements and jmm was inititiating all the offense...chasing john around the ring.
in terms of the move up to ww, i believe it's too much for jmm. it doesn't mean though that his physical conditioning in the floyd fight will also be the same against pac. who knows, it could be better or worse. one things for sure though, whatever conditioning mistakes they made in the floyd fight, they can correct it this time.

He has been on a steady decline since before the second Pac fight, he was having trouble with Diaz, Kats and a badly faded Casa ffs. He is also a lot smaller than Pac.

He clipped Floyd clean and Floyd laughed it off, what more do you want to hear?

Truth about it is, Floyd would have always beating Marquez, it's just there styles.

But 147 just made him look super slow and sluggish.

Whoa whoa Dan, I always respect your opinion man but every last one of those guys essentially got destroyed by Mayweather. I mean outside of 3 rounds for Judah, 1 round for Mosley, and a bunch of wrestling from Hatton Floyd str8 handled each of those guys. I understand what you're saying, but bad examples man.

Basically the issue is that we don't have enough information or examples of Marquez above 135 to make a definitive decision on it. Yes he looked God awful, but he was also fighting one of the best of our generation in a terrible style matchup for him. I would have liked to see Marquez fight someone above 135 not named Mayweather or Pacquiao so I could make a more fair assessment.
