Yeah, Jim Rome was always a Floyd guy but people need to understand that Jr burned a lot of bridges with his bull**** last summer. Even Kevin Iole, another guy who was on the Mayflower, turned on him after the 'vacation' stunt. Floyd and his fans always want to play the victim but it's all his doing. Rome just tells it like it is, regardless of who it is.

Im telling u, rome used to drop recordings of floyd saying these cool one liners all the time on his show. The one time he asked floyd a semi hard question last year floyd handled it like a chump. Rome still has his back and I've heard him say on numerous occasions he thinks floyd will probably win if they ever fight. Dude is a boxing fan and he throws us some shine a hell of a lot more then most national shows. It just kinda irks me when the children on here try to discredit anyone and everyone who disagrees with them. Rome is a friend to boxing and has followed it for years, dude isn't buying pac jmm either.

If u think a boxing fan rather it be Rome or some nut case of this form isnt buying Floyd vs Ortiz....U GOTTA BE OUT YOUR MIND. Now if FLoyd was facing Paul spardodosa blah blah or whoever that cat is and he said he wasnt buying it, id believe it. BUt Floyd coming off a 16 month lay off against a big, tough, strong, left hand fighter like Ortiz, and he say he rather watch the late show? Come on...who is he fooling. Name one fight that Ortiz was in that WASNT EXCITING..now put him in there with floyd...BOOM...u got big numbers...ROme will be GLued to the TUBE Sept 17. The police might get called to his home from all the screaming coming from his house...

I doubt if any legitimate, hard-core boxing fan gives a damn about Jim Rome's opinion. With the exception of Friday Night Fights, the only time anyone on ESPN mentions boxing is when they are taking shots at Floyd Mayweather. Yet, they would have you believe that they spend as much time covering boxing as they do covering football or baseball. If not for Floyd, boxing would never be mentioned on ESPN.

Did Rome say the same thing about Pacquaio/Mosley; Pacquaio/Margarito; Pacquaio/Clottey? He didn't even mention these fights because he didn't care. Now that Floyd is coming back, all of a sudden, he cares about boxing. Whether Rome buys the Mayweather/Ortiz fight or not, it will still sell over 1 million PPVs, which will be about 500,000 more than the Pac/Mosley fight sold.

I totally agree with u bro, im ****ing stoked for the fight. Rome will most definitely watch both fights, he s just trying to make a point.

I was just defending my guy against the fools talking **** about him and his boxing credentials. Rome is funny as hell and he gives everyone ****.
