I like Ortiz and think he is a great talent, but, I can't understand how people anoint him with greater accomplishments than he deserves. Let's rewind the past 2 years: he get's stopped by Maidana, beats 2 journeymen (Diaz/Alatorre), beats 2 old over the hill fighters (Campbell/Harris), has a lackluster draw agains Lamont "freakin" Peterson and a great win against Berto. That's the past 2 years and imo the only 3 competitive fights he had he went 1-1-1. Where's the consistency? Where's the string of title defenses? I still can't get over the look he had when he quit against Maidana and when he let Peterson back him up throughout the championship rounds. That being said, I like Floyd's choice and think there is a strong possibility of an entertaining fight if a game Victor shows up. Hopefully this kid puts up a good effort cus boxing needs more stars!

Well I sure hope you're right Roger that way it can at least be a competitive fight. As I see things now, I see a very boring, dominant UD for Mayweather.

i see ortiz pressing the fight and having moments, but his inexperience will be on spotlight... floyd will counter punish him, causing ortiz to slow down & be reluctant to throw. then floyd will do what he always does, step up his offense the remainder of the fight & school the kid...

optimistically, i see a hungry ortiz try to bring the fight to floyd... but ultimately get outclassed in a somewhat entertaining boxing clinic...

but realistically, we might get a stinker of a fight... ortiz befuddled & nullified as floyd pot-shots for majority of the fight. ortiz getting the biggest payday for showing up. GBP in-house bonanza

but floyd get props for fighting ortiz... pac SHOULDVE fought ortiz for unification...

Ortiz is a very well selected opponent (I mean that in a good way), I'm hyped for the fight!

That being said, Ortiz is not better than Pac.

LOL, they did the same **** with the Mosley fight, they didn't have to, it's a solid fight! you don't have to sell us on why you're fighting this guy rather than Pacquiao. I'm looking forward to 4 months of Roger quotes, and the **** Floyd says to get under Ortiz's skin

Pacquiao refuses to fight Mayweather because of drug testing. Props to Mosley and Ortiz for stepping up the plate!
