    Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez continues to press for a fall showdown with the new WBC middleweight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The young Mexican was crowned last Saturday at Staples Center in Los Angeles, winning a twelve round decision against German boxer Sebastian Zbik. The two boxers were fighting for a belt that Martinez lost, but not in the ring. Martinez dropped the title when the WBC tried to force his hand in defending against Zbik. American cable network HBO refused to approve Zbik as an opponent for Martinez and would only approve Paul Williams.

      Martinez he wont fight you! Arum wont allow that. Theres no money in it for him when Chavez gets his a** kicked. Good bye cash cow

              Yeah most Mexicans do not avoid fights, but Chavez Jr associated with Arum, well that's a different story.

                  this is getting sad.

                  i can understand begging for a pac and floyd fight. those guys are megabucks.

                  but for the lineal champ to go begging for a fight from a green , prospect with a paper belt?

                  i know chavez is a solid payday......but damn.

                  you're the champion of the division. you shouldn't be calling out people for fights. it should be the other way around.

                          So green prospects are winning belts now huh? This is his belt and yeah he wants a payday but no one will fight him.

                              Martinez obviously will not get this fight but I like that he's not letting Top Rank off the hook without making some noise
