How is Floyd the #1 contender when he's on vacation, inactive and dropped from the ratings? Better called by haters as Mr Irrelevant? How is being irrelevant considered to be the #1 contender?

How about Berto or Ortiz at WW? Pac didn't fight either of these NON Top Rank fighters.

How about Bradley or Alexander at JWW? Pac didnt fight either of these NON Top Rank fighters.

How about the 5'10 career JMW in Martinez? Pac didn't want anything to do with him either.

As you can see Pac's avoided all the top contenders of there respected weight class to fight Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. Next up is a LW at WW. Is JMM a #1 contender at WW? JWW? lol

This is one of Mayweather's first legitimate welterweight fights so i commend him for that and it's good to see him back in the ring. However, despite Ortiz being a decent fighter he's not on Mayweather's level and he doesn't really have a chance against him imo. It will be an easy win for Mayweather.

Mayweather has fought 2 legitimate #1's, a guy who was probably the best welter but was ranked #2, and now the #3 in Ortiz.

To provide a comparison, Pacquiao has only ever fought two welterweights at 147, one was an old man ranked no higher than #4, and the other was a bum.
