Pac fought DLH, Mosley, and Clottey at 147. Cotto at 145 and Marg at 150. Cotto was the only really risky fight (well DLH was) that you had the feeling Pac could lose. To me Ortiz is an obvious underdog but a legit threat because he has never been KO'd and is young and hungry. Yes he quit against Maidana but he was not knocked unconcious in a way that would damage you down the line. He's still a young & prime fighter and imagine how electrifying those first 6 rounds will be. You will be on the edge of your seat if your a Mayweather fan knowing its a risk because Ortiz has the power and has an aggressive fighting style. What if Money slips up like he did against Mosley? His skills clearly should carry him to a decision victory but this is no forgone conclusion. What if Ortiz's southpaw style cracks the Mayweather defense early? Its very possible especially with Floyd coming off a long layoff. Dangerous fight and guess what people Floyd is stepping up. Why? Because this is not a top rank fighter and is the biggest challenge at welter other than Pac (Martinez at MW would be the ultimate challenge). Mayweather by UD but I'm gonna be on the edge of my seat when that opening bell rings!

Hoya was not a welter, he was an old, shot, drained, shrink-wrapped, JMW..... but good post. Yep this should be a good fight, but I would still prefer Ortiz / Pac.

And, Benton is not the best technique fighter ever either.

Well, I havent seen too much of Benton, but definitely better defense and footwork, and probably a better counterpuncher.

Also, Benton was technically superb but not as refined as Mayweather, with that crisp right-hand lead, jab to the belly, and check-hook. Mayweather is also quite a bit faster than Benton was.

This is one of Mayweather's first legitimate welterweight fights so i commend him for that and it's good to see him back in the ring. However, despite Ortiz being a decent fighter he's not on Mayweather's level and he doesn't really have a chance against him imo. It will be an easy win for Mayweather.

i'm not discrediting ortiz and im not against PBF fighting him.
in fact i'm happy that PBF will once again go to the ring and all hopes that after the fight, he wont take another vacation.

Let's put the simple facts together:

-Unless Floyd was fighting Pac, you're going to complain.

-If Floyd fought Martinez, you would complain that Martinez is fighting people who are smaller.

-Do you notice that every thread, you say that Floyd wins by UD? 2 points about this:
1- He's not a KO puncher, quit stating the obvious. He has power that is enough to punish you and keep you at bay. Not knock you out with 1 punch.
2- You obviously know there's no real competition except Pacquiao because he IS THAT TALENTED/GIFTED, so you will complain anyway. Pacquiao is the only boxer who is good enough to give him trouble at this point. Understand?

-Do you understand that that Floyd will not fight Manny (or anyone else) until he agrees to Olympic Style Drug Testing? Honestly, that **** should be a thread sticky on the forum. Then everyone can just call each other names and keep the ******s centralized.
