How is Andre Ward overrated?

He came in as a 15-1 underdog to win the tournament. And all of his wins are picked on, there's something wrong with all of his wins, but he always WINS. I like this though, I like it when a fighter just keeps winning and winning, and beating guys who people thought he wasn't gonna beat, but the fans still come up with more excuses to not give the props the guy deserves as a boxer.

Walt If he beats Froch, which you believe Froch will win, then that would mean Froch lost to an overrated fighter?

I guess I need to define overrated. I think dre is probably the best smw right now, but I don't think he's a pfp type guy.......

I had dirrell as the best smw based on his road in the super 6 (I thought he beat froch) until he got his brains scrambled or whatever.

I haven't decided who I think will win that fight yet. Right now I'm leaning toward froch.

Ward overated? How can he be overrated when he wasnt even the fav to win the tourny. Everybody thought kessler and AA was going to run away with it.

How is froch resume that much diff then ward's. They dought dam near the same people except for direll who choose to quit the tourny before he fought ward(not to mention he beat froch. You know dam well froch didnt beat direll).
Bute resume is equal to wards? Homie are you serious?
Man you better hope ward doesnt win this tourny because i will def act a dam fool. Dudes hate ward for no got dam reason.

first off, I think our definitions of overrated are different. I specifically posted a little overrated becuz I don't think he's pfp type, but I do think he's prob the best SMw right now.

And I was saying, WITHOUT kessler, ward and bute have about the same resume.

I'm not saying ward is a scrub at all, I'm just not as impressed as everyone seems to he with him, he's beaten a bunch of one dimensional dudes, b-c level guys, truly overrated Abraham...and a very good win vs kessler. There's tons of dudes throughout boxing with better resumes than that.

Again, I thought dirrell was gonna Take ward by ud.

Ward should be ko'ing or tko's some of these guys like Miranda and green and his inability to finish is gonna catch up with him at some point.

I know what you mean Walt, and I understand. Still, Ward has been damn impressive so far, and if he wins the Super Six then his performance in this tourney plus his talent would warrant him top 5 p4p in my opinion.

I'm not going to take it for granted that he beats Froch though, I stopped underestimating Froch after the Abraham fight, and I loved how he fought against Glen.

Very true, though that has as much to do with the youth of the division as it does Ward's accomplishments. You could easily argue that either Froch or Ward would be the best ever at 168 just from the Super Six, and especially if they beat Bute after.

The winner of the Super 6 will definitely deserve whatever ranking they get, I agree, but I personally wouldn't have either guy top 5 until they beat Bute or some LHW.
