This would be a big time fight that should be made. Chico wants big fights and Cotto wants to slowly build his way up. What better way for Cotto then to fight a big name who is smaller and only had one fight at lightweight. I know alot of you Cotto crazies probally think that he would break Chico in half, but Chico has been in alot of big fights and would carry his punch to 140. I like Chico in this one. Cotto is great on the inside but for as tall as Chico is he might be the best inside fighter in boxing. It's crazy how he can get so much good leverage on short punches with his long arms. Some of you might say that Chico's chin is suspect but I dont think so. I dont think he's ever really been hurt. Most of his knockdowns are because he is off balance or just caught off guard, just like Tito. Floyd dropped him 5 times but you could tell that he was never in serious danger. He always popped right back up and was upset when they stopped it. Frietas is one of the hardest punchers in boxing and he never really hurt Chico. I think that Chico might be the best puncher in boxing. Ive never seen anyone go toe to toe with him and last the whole fight. N'Dou did it with Cotto. Cotto has never been hit with the power that Chico will bring. I think Frietas power is close to Cotto's. It would be a great Hagler and Hearns type fight except I think Hearns wins this one
Who would win? Cotto vs Chico

Thats what alot of people think but its never that simple. Besides if Cotto goes to the body then he opens hiself up to viscous countersOriginally posted by m00ksIt's not Chico's chin, it's his skinny body that Cotto would probably rip apart.Comment

This would be a big step up in class for Cotto. I know most of you think Cotto is better or just as good but Im speaking about opponents. Cotto has faught Baily and Pinto. Chico has faught Frietas, Casamorya twice, a prime Manfredy, a prime Gainer and Mayweather. It would be a big stepup for Cotto, and I saw Cotto get tired against N'Dou in the later rounds. Chico will be coming the whole fight and he didnt get tired against Cassamorya or Frietas, infact it looks like he gets strongerComment

The old Chico that liked to brawl would probably get knocked down once or twice and lose a decision.
But the new Chico that jabs and prances around like a Fairy would stay out of the way and only get tagged a little like in the Freitas fight.
In real life, Cotto weighes about 150-155, and I think he would be significantly bigger than Chico and that would make him the betting favorite.
But Chico has more experience and has the power if he can hit cotto cleanly.Comment

Look what happened to Sosa when he moved up and fought Cotto. These lightweights will seriously struggle to take his power. Corrales thin body especially.Comment

Did you see the Chico and Freitas fight? Chico didnt move around. Freitas was the one moving and staying away, Chico was trying to walk him down and finally did once Frietas got tired and couldnt move anymore. The rest of you need to get of Cotto's jock. The guy hasnt beaten anyone and you guys act like he's JCC. Being skinny doesnt mean anything. Chico is much taller then Cotto. Chico is skinny only because of his height. He will way just as much as Cotto when the fight comes. He faught Floyd at 130 and came in the ring at 147. What do you think he will weigh at 140. He has the reach, the experience and I believe he is more powerful. He would knock Cotto outOriginally posted by tri4ben2The old Chico that liked to brawl would probably get knocked down once or twice and lose a decision.
