JMM is a gotdamn fool if he slugs just to meet a stereotype...as you said he can win boxing and he has begged for this fight for years he would be a fool to even consider it.

However, if he were getting out boxed in the fight and then tried to slug it out it would be admirable, but if he is boxing and winning theres no reason to slug it out.
it isn't as much a stereotype as it is a reputation ... Mexicans embrace their warrior reputation and quite realisticly they're willing to get severally hurt to prove it.

I also agree 100% with your post. It's the honest truth. If Marquez wants to make it a war he's gonna get out powered in there. If Marquez decides to JUST box he'll win, and convincingly. However Marquez is a proud Mexican warrior and he's not the guy who likes to get out willed. If you challenge him to a slug fest, he won't back down. That's the only part that worries me in this fight.

This x10 I completely agree I really hope Marquez doesn't get carried away ... even in the first fight after the 3 knock downs if you notice he still wants to trade with pacquiao..

I hope he fights this fight smart and just outboxes him

I hope so too. Pac has the speed and power advantage...but what good does it do if you're going to get flushed when you try delivering your combos? What people forget is that when Manny weaves in to rapid fire his 3 - 6 punch combo...he gets left wide open. In an interview with Sergio Martinez JMM acknowledged how flawed Manny's defense is. After fighting twice and getting Manny's style figured out..i think this fight will be closer than most think. Manny improved in a sense...but his habit/fighters instinct of disliking to get hit, thus launching unprotected attacks against Marquez might cost him rounds again.

              lol at some posters

marquez against a healthy PAC = no match

They say Cotto lost because of 1 lb below his last weight or weight drained by 1 lb

How many lbs was PAC weight drained when he fought Marquez!!!!

some people just ignoring how many times Pac has been brought to hospital just to make the weight.

4 years later JMM almost knocked Pacquiao down again

this time if JMM doesn't slow down too much it will be the same case

I'm not saying Pacquiao hasn't improved but it isn't so much as JMMs power as it is his accuracy

                  Pacquiao isn't the same fighter.

He hadn't this in an out style when he fought Marquez, he fought Marquez like a relentless face first brawler, Marquez won't find Manny so much this time, and he is getting floored as usual, but for the count this time.

You can't just outbox Pac for 12 rounds, unless your name is Mayweather (not a given). It didn't work in the second fight (first fight JMM pulled it off but times have changed) and it won't work in the third. Pac HAS and WILL make him fight. If JMM can avoid getting murked it will be fireworks.

The guy hit Floyd and Floyd smiled at him. And this wasn't the fake out smile that he did to Mosley and Judah, this was the smile I make when I box my 11 year old cousin and he finally lands one on me after a series of misses. "Dang, he got me"
