If this fight did happen and Martinez was to win....how would Martinez be looked at on the Pound for Pound list?

he's not on Hop's level...he's not on his shelf....he wouldn't even qualify as notch on Hop's belt....Sergio is a beast in HIS lane...but once he steps up into '68 and '75....he's food!!...he'll get ate up by them bigger dudes imo...Hop can't fill his belly with Sergio...no sense in that happening....but I give it to Lou...he's trying to get Sergio some descent cash...props to him!!

Yes Sergio got massive credit for beating Pavlik. But BH arguably beat Pavlik even better.
So a battle between the Pavlik beaters sure sounds good to me.

Contrary to what most are posting here, while I do believe B-Hop decisions Martinez.I believe that Martinez has enough skill to keep the fight fair.Martinez won't lose an ounce of respect dropping a decision to B-Hop.I would expect a solid fight reminiscent to Winky B-Hop.No shame in loosing a decision to an atg.Bet he Martinez looks better in loosing to B-Hop than Oscar & Tito did.

Why fight BHop at 170 when he can fight a SMW with a following (like Froch maybe) 2 pounds lighter??

It's no surprise he wants to fight Sergio, instead of moving up and fighting for a title at cruiserweight or heavyweight.
You're right - he should go from being middleweight champ of the world with over 20 defenses, schooling the top of the next division up at light heavyweight in his 40's to cruiser/heavyweight.. simply because they have been smaller (which is questionable to begin with). You know what, they need to make a SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT, for 230lb fighters that are over 6'8 and B-Hop should move up to that to be the legitimate champion. Otherwise, **** him and his accomplishments.

However, none of this is evidence that Bernard should move up in weight. He might be successful at Cruiserweight, but that's not his weight class. He's perfectly fit for 175. Apart from recent cruiser-to-heavy converts, there is nobody at HW that makes sense as opponents for Bernard. HW just doesn't makes sense for him.
I think Sergio will be too small. Bernard will likely stick and spoil, but it's a better fight than Bernard vs any HW. I'd prefer Bernard fight Dawson, Cloud, Bute, Froch, Dirrell, Kessler, and Ward over Sergio, though.

Sergio switches it up too much. That's how Calzaghe whooped him...Hopkins gives his strategies away. "I study, I watch lots of tapes and am a student of the game"
What this says to me is that Hopkins finds a fight in which his opponent struggles and analyzes the heck out of that tape and tries to exploit those flaws. In other words, he studies for a one-case scenario; once something else is presented, he has trouble. Martinez will jab Hopkins from a distance. If that stops working, he will work the inside...Nazeem can't teach Hopkins new strategies once the fight starts.
Martinez wins a UD...he will smoke Hopkins for the first 4 rds as he does all his opponents. He will lose a few in the middle, then wreck shop down the home stretch.
