Keep in mind Dan Rafeal also gets a vote and says he will vote for Gatti, everyone has their favorites~

It is also called the INTERNATIONAL boxing hall of fame but you get a vote by being a member of the boxing writer's association of AMERICA, which seems a little weird/wrong to me.

It loses credibility by guys like Vargas and probably Gatti getting in, the hall of fame (for me anyway) is supposed to be for the truly special athletes in a sport, putting Vargas and the like alongside Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, Henry Armstrong etc is wrong imo. they should reduce the amount of inductees per year, 3 is quite a lot.

The criteria in boxing is just different. It's not just accomplishments/resume...it's excitement, popularity, revenue generating....all that stuff gets taken into account and people don't seem to get it.

People can debate all they want who SHOULD get in based on their own criteria. But whether or not someone WILL get in is entirely different.

IroN dan and Ruben don't like Doug fisher. How predictable.

did you happen to catch his gym wars series? How about the article he has on ringtv now about canelo/golovkin sparring?

What about his article about bhop training in the wildard when he was watching with don familton?

Too bad savor chose just that part of his response to post because he had other excellent points in his response to the guy asking if chico, jlc, rafa, vargas, and winky should be elected.

And to savor's point, voting on induction into the hof is a matter of personal preference, just like pfp lists. Personally I care about resume more than anything. Doesn't mean the next person is and it doesn't prove anything about anything.

Brian Mitchell has a story and he's not in the hall.

Yea Doug did have good points about the other guys. I just pasted that part to aid my point. I've seen people having ****** arguments all day about guys getting into the HOF and they just don't seem to get it. Needed to bring down the hammer of truth on these fools.

Was off all day so I don't know the context, but anyone who doesn't think impact on boxing is a major criteria for a lot of voters (especially some old newspaper guys) is bananas.

Personally, it isn't for me, but I ain't got no vote (thank god cuz The Black Russian would already be voted on by me just for his nickname)

What is that supposed to mean, Walt?

I didn't catch anything to do with Doug Fisher I purposely don't read his articles.

If I happen to be punished by God Almighty for having him commentate on a stream for a fight I have been searching for half an hour I go off it and find a new one.

                  The man is a moron.

I don't like most contemporary writers, aside from Cliff Rold and Jake Donovan, I don't read a lot of boxing stuff anymore. It wasn't his obvious hate for Floyd that pissed me off the most, its was constant bias on separate things and his pretentious writing that put me off.

Here is a prime example of the piece of **** he is...

irOn dan, it was jaust a playful jab at yourself and Ruben cuz we're always butting heads on Floyd.

His voice is annoying as hell, I'll give u that. His writing is very good, he's a historian and knows a lot about the sport. Plus he gives a lot of insight into the gym scene here in the states.

Ruben, true or false, there were more African Americans that the public pervieved as warriors in boxing 25 years ago than there are today?

Doug frequently makes fun of himself. Most pretentious people don't do that. Ruben, if you had to do a mailbag 2x a week for over a decade, you'd be verbally smacking people around too. His articles Are always professional.
