Chad Dawson stepped aside and allowed him to get his rematch so it is only right that he sticks to his agreement and fight Dawson

I see Dawson making him look his age though, as much as I respect Hopkins and happy for his accomplishment...Dawson style is going to be extremely hard for him to deal with especially at his age

this fight is either going like Dawson vs Glen Johnson 1 or Dawson vs Glen Johnson 2, either the old man makes Dawson fight his fight and rock him a few times INSIDE like Johnson did in the 1st Fight...OR...Complete DOMINATION from Dawson and he makes Hopkins look his age like he did with Johnson in that 2nd Fight

but this is LOSE/LOSE for Dawson unfortunately because if he beats Hopkins people are just going to use Hopkins age as an EXCUSE

I seem to disagree with most posters, I still see Dawson as a bigger threat than Bute. You could be right about the age thing, but where else can Dawson look right now?

I think Hopkins realises if he cleans out the LHW division at this age it will do alot for his legacy.

And if he loses, who cares? He's 46.

Hopkins is just BSING, this will be to make some quick cash, all that BS he spouted saying "I saved the best for last" and "Im going to give the most exciting fights of my life" is all BS. Pascal was tailor made for him, a young dude who has power but doesnt know how to use it that keeps coming forward. He played Pascal perfectly and it was kinda an exciting fight by BHOP Standards (Usually his fights are Insomnia Cures) .

I wouldnt be suprised if this was the most amount of money he made in his career from the gate cut and will look to fight in Montreal again. I think he might go in with Dawson but go back to his usual 12 rounds of running/clinching/dirty tactics and either lose on points or win on points.

Their plan was never to make it an exciting fight, in round 2 or 3 ****m was screaming at BHOP to just "Clinch".

I have a feeling BHOP is very happy with the amount of money he made in Canada and will try to end his career here against some big names because he will make ALOT more cash than down south. If you put a Pascal or Bute fight on the card the place will be packed again. If the Dawson-BHOP fight was in America there would be like 2000 people at some Indian Reservation or at Home Depot Centre in Carson.


BHOP knows this is his time to make the best money of his career, I just hope people didnt get fooled by his "Exciting fight" promise. You cant teach an old dog new tricks.

OF course, B-Hop didn't mean it. Not in the sense, that he would sacrifice his safety first defense to give a exciting fight. Leading up to the fight, he said that his primary goal is to WIN, at all costs. Because without the "W", he is done.

And about your "Made the most money" comment, you must be mistaken. He will never make as much as he did in the Trinidad/Delahoya years of fighting.

Geez....it took him about 5 years to even look into the direction of Dawson.

Anway, it will be a good fight, but in my opinion, I think Dawson's age, speed, and skill will be too much for Hopkins.

I think if this fight happened 5 or 6 years ago I'd say that Hopkins would have beaten a greener Dawson.
