Is Teddy Atlas overrated as an "expert" on boxing?

as a trainer i believe he is overrated
but he's been ringside for thousands of fights
he sees prospects coming up
contenders at their best
aging top flight fighters
and he's done it for many many years
his expertise i do not question
only his motives and ability to make his expertise usefulComment

Atlas has some good insight as to what's happening in the ring, something very few guys have unless they've been in the ring themselves.
Sadly because he feels a certain way about a certain fighter his whole career now comes into question. Not everyone on this planet feel the same way and Atlas is entitled to his opinion. Atlas has more insight into the sport of boxing then almost all of those questioning his achievements.
By the way, if someone had touched my 11 year old relative i'd find it hard not to do something about it.Comment

Record speaks itself. Don't expect good prediction from him either.
But as a commentator for Friday Night, it's alright I say.Comment

I don't know if he's overrated as a boxing expert (I tend to doubt it but then again the internet makes all questions possible, like was Ray Robinson overrated?) but as a MAN, Atlas rates pretty highly in my book for the way he stood up to Mike Tyson when Mike apparently make the mistake of messing with Teddy's family...

As an expert, Teddy Atlas is far more he qualified than lard-ass Dan Rafael who has never seen the inside of a workout gym. But more importantly Teddy Alas is interesting and entertaining which boxing is seriously lacking at the moment.
Atlas can communicate to the casual viewer better than anyone else. Fair and Boring wont bring eyeballs to the sport, Controversial and interesting does.Comment
