Ive been saying this for a long time, Martinez can ask Pacquiao to move up and give away alot of size and height, but he has no interest in doing the same thing?

Double standards as usual in boxing

I don't see how his statement can be considered hypocritical.

Sergio Martinez is challenging the "champ" at 154lbs and said that he would not move up to 168lbs. Martinez has never fought at 168, much less fought for a vacant belt at that weight. So why is it hypocritical for him not to move up to 168? I never heard him ask Manny or Floyd to move up to 160, only that he would be willing to move down to 154 to fight them (Where they have both won "belts" at)

Also, no where in that statement does he say that he wouldn't fight challengers at 160. All he say is that he will not move up to 168lbs.

You're wrong. He's not asking him to "move up". He's asking him to defend the belt he "won" at 154.

            Yea Sergio is being hypocritical.

And there is no way PAC is going to fight Sergio at 154, so why does he keep calling out smaller men?

Does PAC keep on saying he would kick Nonitos ass if he moved to ww?

If Sergio fought and defeated Andre Ward he'd be p4p 1, no question.

And thank god that tool uncle Sam got banned!

what's there to defend? Pac already dropped the title as soon as he felt Margarito's power at 150 at that.

nonetheless, i'd still want to see a pac/martinez fight at 154.

It's that simple.Martinez has never fought at 168,ever.Floyd & Manny were champs at 154,period.Martinez would move back down to 154 to face them. How is Martinez meeting either Floyd or Manny,(both former 154lb champs) at 154 being hypocritical??

In case you didn't realize it was vacated. And it was at a catch weight of 150. The fight wad offered to Martinez at 150, but he said impossible below 154.

Since he did vacate, Sergio is indeed asking him to move up.

On fight night Sergio would have around 20 pounds over PAC, that's just ******ed.

Hey that's fair. Pac doesn't have to fight Martinez, but you just can't call Martinez a hypocrite for asking for it (which is what this thread is trying to claim).
