Sergio Martinez is challenging the "champ" at 154lbs and said that he would not move up to 168lbs. Martinez has never fought at 168, much less fought for a vacant belt at that weight. So why is it hypocritical for him not to move up to 168? I never heard him ask Manny or Floyd to move up to 160, only that he would be willing to move down to 154 to fight them (Where they have both won "belts" at)

Also, no where in that statement does he say that he wouldn't fight challengers at 160. All he say is that he will not move up to 168lbs.
What 154 champ are you talking about? Pac immediately dumped his 154 belt when he realized he got hurt by Marg at 150. Arum said that this is his last above 147. Mayweather is not willing again to fight 154 after DLH.

No where do I say that Pac and May have to fight Martinez.

All I'm saying is that since they did at sometime in their life fight at 154lbs and for belts no less. Martinez has the right to challenge them at that weight.

Just as Hopkins, Ward, Haye, Klitschko can challenge Martinez....at 160lbs.

The thread title is the "hypocrisy" of Sergio by calling out fighters below his weight. You defended Sergio saying he has has the right. I am saying he is a hypocrite by calling out midgets below him but is not willing to challenge giants above, arguing that he is too small for them. Does he not realize that this is the same reason used by Pac's team not to fight Sergio?

Here's a question, why does it matter?

actually, it doesn't. it won't affect his skill or the outcome of any fight he would take, nor would it lessen the impact of his accomplishments.

its just good fodder for a thread i guess.

Why do people want to see Pac v Martinez? Pac is hardly a WW and has to eat like a horse just to hit 144 while Martinez has to diet and lose weight to hit 160?
