Is Sergio turning into a hypocrite?

Is it possible to be too good? Maybe not, but middleweight champion Sergio Martinez's recent run of destruction has left him with a dwindling (and ducking?) handful of suitable foes.

Martinez did confirm last week he has no plans to move up to the crowded 168-pound division, because with a smaller, 5-foot-10 frame, he would be giving away too much size. For what it's worth, WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward tweeted late Saturday of his interest, claiming he "would love a fight with Sergio Martinez. I think it would be great for the fans." But Ward (23-0), who faces Arthur Abraham on May 14 in the semifinals of Showtime's Super Six tournament, also tweeted last month that a move down to 160 pounds for a big-money fight "would be tough, but not impossible. But very tough!"

Sergio doesn't want to go up to 168 'coz it's "crowded" and "he'll be giving away too much size", but instead he wants Pac to come up at 154 the fact that Pac can't even hit the 150 lb mark. How ironic.

sergio and abraham would be a good match. But...although they have similiar builds with sergio having a longer reach, sergio probably still thinks abrahams too big.

i think martinez could take on ward & bhops at 168, no problem....that's if bhops would come down to smw, no point in it for him though, he's the lhw champ. martinez can still make 154, so why not take on the 2 fighters who held belts at 154 (manny and floyd) and are the only 2 fighters above him in terms of p4p rankings and are the biggest paydays around? i say martinez unifies the mw division. after ward wins the super six, than they can have talks about that fight. it would be great to see...if manny can't even weigh in at the jmw range, then he's not an 8 division champ. that's like martinez fighting ward for the smw belts and coming in at 160

He's only a hypocrite if he's chasing Pacquiao and Mayweather. Last time I checked, he was fine not fighting either of them, it's the fans that are trying to put these three together.

if this is true, Sergio really IS a hypocrite.

that said, i STILL would want to see a Pac/Martinez fight at 154.
